How the f*ck does this place stay open? I'll tell you how. The good ole boy network, that's how because unless you're a god fearin' right wing conservative who is rich or popular,...

Not too bad 3/6/2012

A very small space, I would go after the lunch rush peak if you don't like crowds. I was a little put off by the republican tea party stuff, like one reviewer mentioned. I liked my sub and the peruvian sauce. But would I make a special trip just to go back there? Probably not, nothing too special about this place. It's a good place to go to at the Beaches, though. more

IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS 12/29/2011

After reading all the recent negative reviews, I was expecting to meet the surliest waitstaff in Jacksonville. Nothing could be further from the truth! EVERYONE was friendly, especially the manager Caitie who checks on everyone in the dining room. The subs aren't good, they're great! If you want the same old, same old, go to Subway, if not, enjoy something better, Angies Subs. (And the peruvian sauce is as good as everyone says!) more

Dirty Place, Tasteless Subs 8/25/2011

My wife and I have tried eating at Angies a few times over the past few years and it never ceases to amaze me how dirty the place is. The last time we went in there we saw three roaches running around our table! Their subs are not good, either. They taste like the most bland gas station sub you can imagine (no matter how much of that nasty ""sauce"" you put on it). Small portions, too. Their large sub is only 7""... Sorry Angie's, but we are quite done with you. Go to Firehouse if you want a good sub. more

Angie's Republican Subs with a Side of Tea... Party 11/30/2010

I'm not going to lie, the subs at this place are amazing if you use the Peruvian sauce that is given to you at each table. HOWEVER, that does not excuse their COMPLETE lack of professionalism. I know this is a private business, but everytime I come here I am overwhelmed by the amount of Republican/Tea Party propaganda they have throughout the shop. I can't even look at a napkin holder or a sauce bottle without reading something incredibly ignorant and rude about how much the greedy owner here wants to cry about taxes or whatever other issue they want to push on their honest customers. I am happy to buy a sub here, but I would appreciate it if they did not make us ""other"" opinionated people have to deal with their constant Republican brown-nosing. more

Good Sandwich 9/30/2010

Happened to come across Angie's Subs while on business. Like a previous reviewer stated, most of the local teens seem to be at Angie's. The place is laid back, simple and teen run. The owner was very helpful and pleasant in getting me information needed for my business transaction. Like others have stated, the food is very good and probably one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had. However, I do recall that it was rather small. The taste, however, made up for it. I highly recommend Angie's for a great sandwich! more

Angelo? 4/16/2010

I went there to pick up an order my wife had called in (she was at work). She placed the order under her name, Angela. I told the immature girl at the counter I was there to pick up an order for ""Angela"". Since I was male, she had to be a total smartass and say, ""No, I thought you were Angela,"" and rolled her eyes at me. I let that one go. Whatever. As I am waiting, (why there was a wait I have no clue because it was called in 30 minutes prior to me getting there). Anyway, as I was waiting, she began patronizing.. calling me Angelo and hollering to the guys in the back, ""You guys got that sub for ANGELO?"" Why? I have no clue. I was nothing but polite from the moment I walked in the door. Again and again, ""Sub for ANGELO???"" I'd had enough so thankfully she called me to the counter, ""here's your sub ANGELO.."" I corrected her. I couldn't help it. I said my name is so and so, my wife's name is Angela, why do you keep calling me ANGELO? No apology. Nothing. Just a blank stare as if I kicked a puppy. So I said, ""I mean, why you being such a smartass.. what did I do to you?"" Let me tell you, this girl just laughed in my face. All I can remember is the fake tan and the fake bleached bleached bleached white teeth which eats away at the enamel but whatever. She'll just be another toothless idiot in jax beach with skin cancer. My wife thanks you for the sub btw. :) Pros: Don't have to go there again Cons: This place blows more

Illegal Business Practices 12/30/2009

Angie's Subs will try to offset their merchant fees by passing the fee ($0.35) along to the customer when you pay with a credit card. This practice is a violation of the merchant terms and agreement with at least MasterCard and American Express and probably Visa, although I haven't looked into that one yet. I've been disputing the transactions through American Express who has happily refunded me the illegal ""convince fee"" It's only a matter of time before Angie's Subs will no longer be allowed to accept credit card as payment. Pros: Tasty Subs Cons: Illegal Fees more

Yummm 5/18/2009

A plus! 4/28/2009

Try the jack del rio! They take forever but it's worth it! more

Best subs hands down! 3/19/2009

Angie's is so good! I eat at least two to three times a week there. The staff is super friendly and always welcomes you. The atmosphere is very chill and beach like. The furniture is totally random and works great for them. It's right next to the beach, so you know that there's goin to be some good look girls ad guys there. The food is amazing in every way. The peruvian is by far the best sandwhich I've ever had. I'd reccomend this place to anyone and everyone. Pros: Cheap prices for the best subs and it's super chill. Cons: It's kind of far from my house but that doesn't stop me. more

highschool hangout, workers ack like idiots 5/21/2008

went to angies it was a highschool hangout, kids everywhere. The workers were running around and hitting each other with towels. The food takes forever to come out. The quality of the food was terrible. because the same sandwhich from one day astes diffrent from the next. You can tell he is cheap and getting meat from diffrent places. the place is a dump.... Every day he finds time to change the sign out front but doesnt have time to clean the place up. Angies is the place for you if you like bad service, average food and a horribly ran dirty restaurant. Publix has a way better sub, twice the meat less money, and workers that are not playing tag while they make your food ...... and thats not saying much Pros: If you dont know where your kids are you can find them there Cons: no parking, highschool lunch room, more

This is THE BEST SANDWICH PLACE EVER 9/27/2007

Angie's has great food, environment, service, everything. Their subs are awesome and with the call in advance ordering, you can be in and out if you need to be. I recommend this to everyone that comes into town for whatever reason, make it a point to stop and eat here. Seriously the best sub sandwich you will ever have, or at least top 3. I get the Jack DelRio Sub and OH MY GOD it is scrumptious. go there! more

Best Subs ever 7/8/2007

Love this place they have awesome subs and some of the best sweet tea ever. I eat at Angie's atleast twice a week. Another thing that is great is the prices you can get a 10"" sub and drink for under $10. Pros: Cheap prices for great food and awesome atmosphere. Cons: Can be busy and crowded from time to time but who cares. more

a sub place that caters to the beach-town atmosphere 7/8/2006

this place is laaaaaaaaid back. the subs are great. be prepared to wait in line to place your order and then again for your sub to be delivered to your table. you may even have to wait to get a table. the place has a ton of character. definitely try the peruvian sauce. about as unpretentious as food can get. Pros: great unpretentious food in an unpretentious setting Cons: wait to order, wait to pay, wait to get a table more

The best subs I've ever had 11/28/2005

The guy who said the ingredients were cheap and the bread was stale must have been talking about the wrong place. Angie's is the best subs at the beach bar none. Definitely better than the usual sub places. more

Very Local 9/24/2005

This sub place is very local, about as old-time jax beach as they get. Fun, but please don't expect anything fancy. Very friendly service, the staff seems to know at least half the diners by name. Great cheap sandwiches served in a very eclectid dining area. Food takes a while, but hey, its a beach diner! Pros: eclectic furniture, local ambiance, good, cheap food Cons: parking more

Best Beach Eats 6/13/2004

Angies is the perfect place to stop in for a quick bite. Very casual and everyone is down to earth. You'd expect to see a no shirt, no shoes, no problem sign on the door. Perfect place to stroll into straight off the beach with your flops flippin and the sand still stickin' to you! more
