In Short
After almost years in Sherman Oaks, Virginia-born chef Jerome Moss has brought his country kitchen east. There's patio dining off the sidewalk, and a big bright main room with warm yellow walls, a vintage R&B soundtrack and biopics on the TVs. Under the benevolent gaze of soul superstars in Bill Landers' cheerful paintings, diners tuck into hearty soul food dishes, from breakfast chicken and waffles to BBQ ribs, smothered pork chops, fried catfish, red beans and rice, fried shrimp and chicken platters, jambalaya and gumbo.
