Angela's Hair Nail Salon

When I first went to Angela's she did such a Wonderful job with the highlights and cut but after that she seemed to get lazy and basically did whatever she wanted to do. Normally when you go to get your hair highlighted they have the color written down on a card so they know for the next visit what color to use...but not Angela. Went back for highlights last month and needed the whole head done since I waited so long but the problem is she did black low lights and blond highlights to the top of my head which came out the color orange and I did not ask for black hair I wanted the color blond. Went back 2 days later to get the color corrected and she was upset and told me to go back to the sink and she would correct the problem but the funny part about it is Angela had the shampoo girl correct the color and then Angela had me leave the salon with my hair wet with some kind of blue conditioner on my hair. Ok so I go home and rinse the conditioner out and my hair color is now the color red. I will never step foot in that salon again and she also comes up with her own prices, if you notice there is no sign with prices listed on the wall. first off i was married to a russian and i know all the bad words,so if you like being called a stupid whore behind your back, go to this place.i was getting my feet done any they kept insulting ever person that walked in calling each person a homosexual or a slut and telling each other who and how that person slept with , the little bitch who was doing me feet kept glancing up to me and telling her co worker that i looked stupid with my color,no i go to one of the salons in ozone park that used to be in howard beach and the guy who does my hair is the best on the blvd.,he's booked 3 weeks in advance.not like those loosers who stand around all day and they keep hitting me up to do my eye brows and my hair , the sluts all hovered over me to insult my hair-color and the girls didn't disinfect the pedicure bowl in between clients, she just sprayed windex and wiped it down, i used the ladies room and to my surprise it was very nice ,then that didn't last long,the sanitary paper was soiled with urine and while i was sitting the door lock was faulty and i kept getting interrupted by other patrons who thought it was vacant. no one offered me a coffee and when i asked one of the staff if she could put quarters in my meter ,she rolled her eyes and i had to walk out with paper slippers because the owner would not let me leave with the flip flops ,did she think i wanted to steal her crappy beat up sandals?? then she cut my cuticles too close and i bled, and she didn't even apologize , i would let her use the string on my eyebrows because the string was used on someone else and i watched as she placed the string in her apron and reused it on 3 young men,but they are very persistent and finally got their way. as i went to change in their waxing room,out came a guy who was tucking his shirt back into his pants and i noticed his erection as he left the room and figured he is just a young man who gets excited very easily,but then as i watched the young girl use scope near the shampoo bowl,it made me understand what had really happened in this place, all the men waiting on line to get their brows waxed are all coming out with nothing done and as i spoke to another patron i was told that this is what goes on in this place.so now my feet hurt,polish chipped ,stain in my blouse from wax and now my doctor tells me i have a ringworm in my bikini area which im sure to blame to only one place,i can go on and on but they are not worth my time. heed my words ,stay very far from this place , make your money count and spend it on a salon with great reviews,not these prostitutes Pros: if you are a guy and like to get a blowjob of another kind, Cons: prostitution,unsanitary,vulgar ,unprofessional more

The owners professional manners are terrible. I do not understand how anyone with that kind of personality could keep a business open. I dont understand why anyone would even go there. She is very unprofessional, over priced and basically does not treat anyone she is in contact with respectfully. Pros: Nice neighborhood Cons: Everything else. more

I am very much against ever going back to Angela's ever again. Angela herself did a cut and highlights in my hair. She completely ruined my shirt...with bleach...and when I brought it to her attention, she said "oh well, you should have wore something else". As a professional business owner, I don't think you can be any less professional than that. She did a terrible job on my highlights due to the fact that she is lazy. She doesn't take pride in her work...but thinks she is the best!! Also, if you use debit/credit she tacks on another $5 to your total. The job she did was not worth the price I paid to be dissatisfied. Please take my advice and do not trust your hair to her....she is also known to damage your hair!! With so many other salons on Crossbay Blvd, definately stay away from this place. Also, you will see the same sign in her window every summer advertising their "highlight special" of $65...please do not fall for it, it is a lie! She says she had to do other things to your hair...and blah, blah, blah. This woman is a liar and doesn't deserve people's hard earned money. Although it has taken me a few months to write this review I have to say it has been on my mind to do so. Why? Because honestly I have had MANY haircuts in my life and I have searched far and wide for someone who could deal with my thick wavy hair. Well, after 40 years I finally found ANGELA. Not only did she give me the best haircut I ever had, but she also did perfect highlights without my even telling her what color I wanted or anything at all. If this review sounds over the top, it's only because I have had so many bad experiences in the past, paid a lot, went to fancy NY places, you name it, I did it. True, I had some decent haircuts but I never found anyone who had such a knack for knowing what your hair needs. Because the haircut was so good I haven't even had to go back yet but I will be very soon, to do highlights as well. Check it out. The prices are reasonable and even the parking isn't bad.
