Delicious Cuban and Puero Rican food 8/27/2005

I was brought to Andres, located in the outskirts of Old Town, for a goodbye party before a coworker returned to Peru and had some of the most unique and tasty food in the area. As far as I know, there are not too many places in San Diego that specialize in this type of food. I especially loved the plantains! The atmosphere is culturally representative and casual. more

San Diego's slice of Cuba 8/11/2005

We went here because we saw they had a coupon in the Entertainment book. It was a unique experience and they have traditional Cuban cuisine -- black beans, fried plantains. I had the ropa vieja which is seasoned meat that is shredded like rags, then briefly cooked again. They have other items like cuban espresso, delicious flan, and there is an adjoining market that sells many of the items they serve. more

Great Food 8/10/2005

The atmosphere of this restaurant has a very homey feel. It's a small restaurant with lots of windows, sunshine and breeze. It was easy to feel like your table was the only one in the room. The service was great and the food was very good. The dishes while plain, tasted homemade and the prices were very reasonable. There is a market attached where you can buy Cuban and Puerto Rican foods. more
