Anderson's Bookstore really deserves credit for a friendly, upbeat atmosphere. You know they're passionate about their books, and when you walk in, there's always some display announcing a new title or author due to visit. Anderson's in Naperville hosts a constant schedule of events, and they're great about informing customers on their website and in the store itself! For example, they've had Christopher Paolini signing for "Eragon" and "Eldest" (popular with my kid brother's set) and Neil Gaiman for "Anansi Boys". The service here is great, especially if you're after a hard to find title or you can't recall who wrote that book about the girl in the green dress looking for her dog... Selection in areas isn't expansive, but they carry a good variety of some of the better options in a given genre, so you usually walk away with a good product. The handwritten recommendations in many sections are a welcome personalizing touch, especially to procrastinators. For parents, the child/family oriented events are worth checking out, and anyone walking through Naperville (maybe taking a bite at Lou Malnati's or enjoying the Riverwalk) should pop in to browse. more

This bookstore is one of my favorite places in naperville to get a signed copy of my favorite authors of books. I find hard to find books and good bargains often at this downtown bookstore. The staff friendly, and nice. Its located in downtown Naperville and I always love vistiing at Andersons Bookshop! more

Anderson's Bookshops is a small chain of booksellers with stores in Naperville, Downers Grove, and Elmhurst. The shop in Naperville is frequently the location of author signings and children's book club programs. They've got an impressive collection for all ages, but you can tell that they take pride in the children's and young adult collections. If you can't find what you're looking for, do ask for help. They will often call the other locations and either hold a book or send it over for you. more

Anderson's Bookshops is a nice reminder of what bookstores were like before the mega-stores took over. While I won't complain about the change, AB is a quaint and well-situated addition to the Naperville community. They frequently have signings and noted authors come for talks. I suggest checking out their annual sidewalk/tent sale for some great bargains. more

They offer a wide variety of events for children including story time and puppet shows. It isn't as large as your average Borders, and doesn't offer refreshments. It is a nice and quiet spot in the middle of a bustling neighborhood. more

Located in downtown Naperville, this is one of those bookstores that has struggled to stay alive in the era of all of the big chain bookstores. It has been around for years and any staff you encounter, you will find knowledgeable about any type of book or author in their store. If you are looking for great customer service, this is definately the place to go. more

Anderson's Bookshop is a great local bookstore in Naperville. They have nationally known authors for book signings, they have a wonderful childrens area that my daughter loves, and the staff is always very knowledgable about the books they sell. It is a refreshing change of pace from the national chain bookstores. Highly recommended. more

This is a wonderful old age bookstore. The staff is so knowledable and friendly. They have a great kids book area. They also bring wonderful authors to speak on a regular basis. The bookstore is located in downtown naperville adjacent to many wonderful stores. Any book you need can be found here. more

I love andersons book shop its so much better then your average boarders or barnsandnobals .I Love that your right near downtown naperville. you could definitely find some rare books and some great deals. Staff was very helpful to help me find a book during my last visit however there was no one there to help me out.Its still one of my faviort book stores more

Great place to find books or attend an author signing. It seems that they have at least one author there every week. You can usually find a listing in the Sunday tribune. They even have hard to find items like magazines you wouldn't be able to pick up at the grocery store. Great location in downtown Naperville. more
