This is the MacDonald's of the chicken wing. The establishment has been living off its reputation for years. Why, I don't know. The wings are average at best. The interior of the eating area has not been cleaned in years as you can see a lot of dust in the dining room. So, if the dining room isn't clean, how is the kitchen? Enough said, this is nothing more than a tourist stop. more

This restaurant is like eating at a place of history. Many famous people stop in -- You'll see autographed pictures of the celebrities that have dined here throughout the main dining room walls. I'm a huge chicken wing fan- but this restaurant sells many things if you are not! Wings come in Mild, Medium, Hot, Spicy BBQ, or Suicidal! $8.00 / 10, $12 / 20 , $25 / 50... Other wonderful items on menu are: Baby Back RIbs $24 Stuffed Potato Skins $9.00 Friday Fish Fry- $9.00 (heck of a meal) Pizza Chicken, Steak, Pork chops.. I've never had a bad meal ever! What an experience! Anchor Bar Wing Sauce is available at many grocers and you can always order online-- Its pretty neat- you can even order wings online and have them shipped anywhere in the US. Haven't tried that yet-- The bar has live entertainment every weekend! usually traveling jazz bands! You cannot come to Buffalo without stopping in for some good food! One of the greatest places to eat wings. It is a little dark in there, but the live jazz on saturday(i think?) makes it all worthwhile. In terms of wings they have the best tasting barbeque wings ever. I always invite friends from out-of-town to eat here. more

This place has the best wings I’ve ever had. When I was in college in the Buffalo area my friends and I would always have a wing night once every 2-weeks or so. This place was the favorite of many people in our crew. The wings are so great and the sauce is tasty and hot. Nothing beats these wings and some beer. more

If you want some good wings this is a place to visit. They actually did invent the chicken wing. They have some of better wings in the area. The wings are always perfectly cooked and the wings are covered in their wonderful chicken wings sauce. What is there not to love? Amazing. more

They make the best wings in Buffalo. I love coming here on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a section in the restaurant devoted towards listening to jazz music. If you sit in this room there is a small surcharge added to your bill but it is well worth it. Nothing beats the jazz and the world’s best wings. more

This place has good wings. They aren't dry and have a lot of sauce. If you want wings, this is the place to hit. Not much else here is very good, food wise. Seating is cramped as well. The restaurant isn't in the best of neighborhoods either but they do a pretty good business for wings. People love their buffalo wings! more

This place makes some of the best wings in the country. I prefer Duff’s wings but I would never turn down a plate of their wings. This place is a little nicer than Duff’s but it could be a better neighborhood. The wings are very saucy and taste great. I’ve never had a bad experience here. more

Yes the chicken was actually invented here. They have the best wings in the country. These are the wings people outside of Buffalo refer to as “Buffalo wings.” The sauce on these wings are so tasty. I want to pick up the plate and drink the sauce after the wings are cleared off my plate. Everyone should visit this restaurant at least once in their lifetime. more

This is the original place for wings. It started the wing and has perfected the wing with their amazing sauce. This is a nice place to come with friends on a weekend. They have live jazz in their music room on the weekends. There is a small surcharge to sit in this area but the music is perfect and so are the wings. more

The Anchor Bar could be the most recognizable Buffalo dining option throughout the world. They are famous for, of course, their Buffalo wings. This place invented and perfected them. In my opinion they are the best in the area. They always arrive to your table hot, fresh, crisp and covered with their tasty sauce. more

This is the original place for the Buffalo wings. Unfortunately in recent experiences I have had better wings at other buffalo restaurants. Never-the-less everyone needs to go here at least once if they are in buffalo because it is the original house of the famous buffalo wing. It also has a fun atmosphere and casual feeling to the place. more

They were invented here so you have GOT to go to the Anchor bar and have wings where they originated!! This place has huge wings in all flavors, including suicide and barbeque. Try all the wing varieties and watch a game at the same time!! You won't regret the trip to downtown Buffalo to see this historic bar/restaurant!!! more

This restaurant is the original buffalo chicken wing place to be!! The wings are fabulous here. Be careful though, they have hot and suicidal wings -- just for people who have iron stomachs! They also offer other things to eat as well, so if you dont like wings you can order other appitizers as well. They have a band playing on the weekend, it does get crowded but worth the wait. The service was good too. more

What can I say about the Anchor Bar but GREAT Chicken wings. This is where it all started. The Home of Buffalo Chicken wings. You cant ask for better wings then here. Service is Great. This place can get busy,but worth the wait. If you have a gut of iron try the suicidal, if not you better stick to medium or mild. more

What's else is there to say - the home of the chicken wing! If you want authentic buffalo chicken wings, this is the best place to go! After all, it's where it all got started! Best wings in the country and great choice of beers, both domestic and imports! Prices are really reasonable too! more

This is where the famous Buffalo Wings originated from. They offer their wings with a variety of sauce, the hottest being the Suicidal hot sauce, and the name is so apt. These wings are so hot. They also have a regular bar serving the usual drinks, but it is the for their wings that you should visit this place. more

This place has some of the hottest wings in town. The wings are really awesome and dipped in some of th best BBQ sauce. The wings come with a side of celery and blue cheese dressing. This place also has some really good Italian dishes as well. It is a great place to visit. more

Anchor Bar is the place where buffalo wings was originated from. The wings are mighty tasty. I believe it comes in hot and suicide for those who are daring. The sweet bbq is great for those who don't have a spicy tongue. It comes in portions of 10, 25, 30, and 50. We ordered 50 and between 3 people we devoured it all!! Besides wings the place offers other appetizers and food, but best known for its wings. Usually there is a long line especially over the weekend from out of towners and Buffalonians. Over the weekend there is live entertainment usually a band playing jazz music and a singer. It's really a nice place and must go if in the Buffalo area! more
