Doctor is GREAT, VERY CARING 5/25/2008

First of all, responding to the last comment: You cannot assume that just because YOU are not afraid of your OWN dogs, that a doctor who deals with large & small dogs all day long, who has been bitten on NUMEROUS occasions, will not be slightly wary around two large dogs. Dr. Choi is a licensed veterinarian, not a negotiator. I have been to Dr. Choi for 10 years now and have followed him from his old office to his new. He has been nothing but great and I would recommend Anchor Animal Hospital to anybody. more

I wouldn't recommend them. 4/23/2008

The doctor is obviously afraid of larger dogs. I took two FRIENDLY golden retrievers for vaccines. He walked in the room, saw them, immediately pressed his back against the wall and had the vet tech hand me two muzzles. They didn't even fit right, so he still could have been bitten if the dogs would have done such a thing. Believe it or not, I'm not exaggerating. I couldn't help but stare at him as he reacted, and he laughed a little when he caught me looking at him.\r \r I wish they would just let people know that they don't want large dogs. I'm sure he's a fine vet, but I need someone that isn't afraid to touch my dog. He didn't even do a physical. Just gave them the shot and sent us on our way. more

DONT GO TO ANCHOR HOSPITAL IN ANAHEIM 2/8/2008

This vet is a crook and VERY hard to understand i went in to check if my dog was pregnant they dont have a clue what they are doing i complained about what he was charging me and he started yelling at me and told me to leave he made me feel like a piece of nothing. His staff told me a dog is pregnant for 3 months and i had to correct them and tell them its only two months i am more mad at myself for taking my dog to a horrible place like this. For your dogs sake don't go there. more

Our family vet for 14 years 6/25/2007

I'm not sure what the other bad reviews are about other than a pattern of thinking he is expensive. And judging from one that states they "negotiate" prices for prescriptions and treatment, it sounds more like they wanted a swap meet, not a good vet.\r \r Dr. Choi has taken care of our pets for 14 years. He and his staff have always been loving and caring. I have had to put to sleep 4 pets in that time. 2 of old age and 2 from cancer and the compassion he personally has for this is heart warming.\r \r And as for animals biting; if you think you know your pet you are in a fantasy world. You can NEVER be 100% sure your pet will NEVER bite a stranger. I protect Dr. Choi in advance by recommending the muzzle before working on my 70 lb black lab. Her name is Sweetie and that is her nature. But I will NEVER assume she will not bite or I am setting up the person treating her to be at risk. more

Difficult to understand 11/9/2006

This vet is very difficult to understand and he's very expensive. He's more interested in money than your pet's welfare or your budget. He will not negotiate and gets very hostile if you try. He'll tell you to go away if you try to get some prices down. Nasty business. more

This vet is all about making money 10/18/2006

He's afraid of big dogs. He charged me over $100 to sedate my dog to draw blood because he couldn't do it even with a muzzle on because was deathly afraid of him. Told me my dog would turn on me and bite me one day. This is a dog that is good with babies and toddlers and cats! Refused to write me a prescription for a chronic condition unless I paid $14 for the prescription because he can't make any money off me if I order the drug from Petsmed or other online vet pharmacy. He cited insurance reasons but this is baloney because my cat vet writes me prescriptions for prednisone that I fill online. No problem. When I tried to negotiate, he got angry and told me not to come back to him, find another vet. His English is bad, being a native Korean, and it was hard to understand why he was getting so angry at me. He couldn't understand why I, as a consumer, would balk at paying $50 for a prescription drug at his office when I can get it for $18 online. He charges over $300 for teeth cleaning more

My German Shepard had an easy doctor visit! 11/5/2005

Easy to get in and did not have to wait. Doctor is very funny and makes sure you understand your pets options. Friendly staff and clean office/exam rooms. Parking in back of business. Business is a house that sits on St. College. PROS: BIg dogs, little dogs & all cat sizes welcome! Walk-ins OK!! CONS: Waiting area is not meant for big dogs that get spooked or are not friendly more
