Well I have never written a review either, but after hearing negative reviews of this store, then experiencing the exact opposite myself I have been compelled to write one.
**I have never purchased a telescope, so this review is based solely on my experiences buying firearms from this store, but I can only imagine they treat every purchase the same.**
First off, they were the only gun in the area that had the hard to find firearm I wanted in stock. I wanted a gun that everyone else had a ""9-12 month wait"" to get.
Second, they didn't blink when I made an unusual request. They said they would look into it and they called me the next day and told me they could do it anytime. Maybe it's just me...but it is rare lately for a shop to call me back, in fact I have been blown off by two shops while looking for these very guns that I have since purchased from Anacortes Telescope.
Third, if you're not too timid, you can talk to the owners and make an offer, and they will grant it, or make you a counter offer...it's like old fashioned SALESMANSHIP, talk to them!!! I know, you're mall conditioned...the $130.00 pair of jeans is just that a $130.00 dollar pair of jeans, but if you asked the OWNER, I'm willing to bet the owner would rather sell you a pair of $130.00 jeans for $120.00 than let them sit collecting dust!!!
Fourth, I can't imagine that Herb, the co-owner and ""gun guy"" treated an active duty military member wrong...he's been nothing but helpful and accommodating, and gave me great prices on the exact guns I was looking for that the other gun stores said ""couldn't be found"" to boot, yes, I've been on active duty for 16 years. I have also bought over 30 guns from various stores in the area and have NEVER been treated more like a long time customer within minutes of walking into a store until now.
I don't know what more to tell you. We all know there is no such thing as a 9-12 month waiting list for any gun on the planet, (it's called the internet). It's simply a matter of the salesman putting forth some effort into getting the customer what they want. Not only does Anacortes Telescope do that, they will work with you on the price if you bother to ask.
