I love this place! The reason I say it is better than a bridal salon is that the gowns are made right upstairs from her showroom. After you choose your gown - btw they are ALL on display , not in some back room - you have your dress custom made for you. I've been if for 2 fittings (I have one more) and the whole experience has been wonderful. \r
If you're going to spend a lot of money on a wedding dress you should get a couture experience with a patternmaker, seamstress and designer attending to you. Very cool. Everyone who has worked with me has be very nice and unpretentious. Some salons I visited on the gown search felt pushy and tried to use my inexperience at this (most people are!) to their advantage. \r
At Amy Kuschel it was so different. Amber helped me choose my gown. She was a great listener and had such helpful suggestions that I knew in the first 15 minutes that I would get my gown here. Still, she could tell that I was having a hard time deciding so she told me I should sleep on it. At a salon I'd been to the day before the salesperson all but locked me in the store to try and get me to buy. Anyway, I did come back and chose the most beautiful gown I'll probably ever own. The whole experience since then has only gotten better. On my most recent fitting there was a woman leaving with her gown. Everyone was hugging her, wishing her well, and she started to tear up as she left. This place is special.\r

Amy sells her gowns all over the country, but her heart is in San Francisco. Lucky for me!\r

Pros: The gowns, service and experience!
Cons: I'll only get to do it once. (hopefully ;) )
