The best CD store in the world 7/12/2005

Amoeba Music is world famous, and it should be. You can find literally whatever you are looking for here. Old CD's, old vinyls, rock, techno, blues, folk, anything you want, it'll be here, often at cheap used rates. They also have a really big DVD and VHS collection, many of them used too. If you haven't been to Amoeba yet, you really need to go. more

This music store is huge! They offer the best selections of new and used CD's, records and cassettes. They have thousands to choose from. Surely you can find something that satisfies your taste of music here. Why buy new when you can get bargain prices on excellent used condition CD's! more

This store is amazing for the dedicated music lover. Thousands of cds line the huge warehouse-feel of this store. Every genre can be found here, from soul to electronica to soundtracks. Awesome. Amoeba has a huge inventory of used cds, and if you need to unload a few, you can exchange for money or store credit here. PROS: CONS: can be overwhelming in size more

If you just want to casually flip through records in a nice atmosphere this is not the place to you. Okay, it feels like a warehouse, but that's becasue they have almost everything. Rock, Hip-Hop, folk, World, Jazz, Soul, Country, Experimental, Metal, DVD's you name it. Tons of vynil and a fantastic used section. Essential for record collectors or if you're browsing for something a little more obscure. PROS: Has everything! CONS: more

CD Valhalla! 9/19/2004

I came to this record store after hearing much hype and going to the Hollywood location. It did indeed live up to the hype as I found a rare cd that is almost impossible to find (even on the internet). The prices here are also ace! Aside from all the trendloving humanoids that clutter it up. This place rightfully deserves the name "CD Valhalla". Amoeba is the only good record shop left! I just want to give a big farfenoogin to Tower, Virgin, and the Wherehouse! You moneygrubbing basteeds!!!!! Alleviate the stress on your wallet people and shop at Amoeba!!! The Best Music Store EVER! 4/25/2004

Amoeba is the best music store I have ever seen. They have the greatest selection of used CDs anywhere. You can find almost anything here. And if you can't, come back in a week and it will be there. Pros: Huge selection more

if it's rare, out-of-print or too indie to imagine, then it'll be at amoeba. while theirelectronicasection and staff seem bewildered and are not well-versed in that genre, this is more than made up for when you begin the great exploration. if you have time, say hi to tom, in the buying section -- he's one of amoeba's best hidden secrets. Amoeba is absolutely the best place to whet your musical appetite. From the latest in music to golden oldies, if you can't find it here, chances are, you can't find it anywhere! Pros: Great Staff, Lots & lots of music! Cons: New cd's can be $$$ more

Great quality, diverse selection 6/28/2002

My husband and I recently bought 28 cd's there, about 18 of them were used. I was a skeptical about the quality and was pleasantly surprised to find the cd's were in mint condition. Seriously, it looked like they had been opened but never played. And you can't beat their prices. Their staff is very knowledgable, and their computer system is very well updated to let you know how many copies are available and where they are located. Furthermore, you can give them just the smallest amount of information and they can find what you're looking for. Great experience and I would go back anytime. more
