Amity promised a refund of application fees if we were approved. They did not ask for the application fee up front, and then they added the application fee on to the closing costs on the day of closing. The explanation we got was that because we didn't pay up front, we weren't entitled to the refund. Do not do business with these dishonest brokers. Go with a wholesale broker and negotiate your own fees.
