Not happy 4/12/2011

I had an appointment with Dr. A this morning, It was my first appointment at the center. I arrived 9:00 to fill out paperwork before my 9:15 appointment. I was done with the paperwork at 9:15 however my appointment didn't begin until 9:45 not too good but I know that happens all the time in the medical field. Dr. A did not seem to care... I was there to follow up on a previous condition as instructed by my ER doctor. I asked about a vaccine and was given a soft spoken vague grunt. If I wasn't already familiar with my condition I don't think I would have learned anything from the visit. All and all terrible experience, though my wife says that some of the other doctors there are pretty good. more

Best Doctor 3/10/2011

Good: My family and I discovered Dr. Hurtado many years ago... I have moved and TRUST me, his service is among the best I have found. Fro Alergies (he is the best) to general consults I rely in his wisdom. I had some worysome emergencies and after seen 3 specialists (all expensive) in the Vienna, Fairfax area, I was going nowhere. Two visits with Dr. Hurtado were enough to find out my problem. The other doctos are very good in general medicine, no complains about Medical Center. Bad: Its allways packed! full of people seeking to see the doctors... making the waiting time a little longer. But that is not their problem, its just the result of good service.. Improvements: Perhaps keep (on their end) the appointments and the time assigned... When I do an appointment I ussually have to wait a bit before they call me.. Other: If you need to see a doctor in a rush... GO there first thing in the morning... even before they open! Avoid (if you can) Saturdays..... more

BAD EXPERIENCE 4/2/2010

This place has no customer service. I felt everything is about business. I was patient there for about 2 years and did not have any good experience. The staff and nurses are not friendly and the doctor seems not to care. The only reason I stayed with them was that their office was close to my house. Recently I went to get a referral to a specialist and I was told by the office staff that I needed to see a doctor before they could provide a referral due to the requirements of my insurance. I inquired on the wait time and I was told that they were busy and the computers were down. So I figured it would probably take about 2 hours to be seen by a doctor who needed to write on prescription pad the name of the specialist. I called the insurance and asked them about their requirement and the insurance person told me that they didn't require that I be seen by a doctor for a referral. They told me the doctor’s office can fax the referral to the specialist office and I could request that over the phone. Well that did not work out for the office manager. She said that their office policy is that the doctor needs to see me. I guess they needed to get their payment for the 5 min that it would take the doctor to write the name of the specialist. (NOT A PLESANT EXPERIENCE) I got my records and I quit as a patient. I figured that I didn’t need to endure such a hassle. more

No customer Service 1/27/2010

This is my bitter experience in that place: Receptionists are not helpful at all, the nurses do not introduce themselves or greet you in any way, they don't even make eye contact, you get the feeling that they just want to get rid of you. I had an appointment at 2pm, got there 30 minutes before the appt, it was 4 pm and I was still waiting, when I went to the reception to inquire about the delay, they said we don't know, go talk to the nurse. Ya....which nurse?....I managed to grab a nurse at some point and ask why am I being delayed, she said they have a medical emergency, few minutes later I saw my Dr walking in the hallway, eating and chatting with one of the nurses. At 0430pm I was finally called bt the nurse who took my vital signs and left me in the exam room with no explanation. 15 minutes later the Dr walks in. I had to have chest X-ray on a different appt, the technician offered me a gown that one of the patients before me just took off. I go to the lab for blood work, they guy there is busy on the phone making weekend plans and waves for me to sit on the chair. 20 minutes later, I asked him if he was going to draw the blood or what?.....oooops I pissed him off!!! when he finally got off the phone, he put on his gloves and wanted to draw my blood when I asked him to WASH HIS HANDS FIRST....Oh yeah...now he was pissed......I was not surprised when I got a call next day saying they need a new blood sample as the first one was clotted. I was so happy to be rid with those unprofessional group of people who call themselves healthcare providers. more

Very Frustrationg Appointment 1/30/2008

Saw Dr. Clinedinst (because i wanted a female Doc, and because of her expertise in nutrition). She did not greet me, introduce herself nor look at me, did not hear me and interrupted several times in the 5 minutes she had. It WAS a VERY busy morning, but if she had simply said "I'm sorry, its so busy I'm afraid I can't give you much time", I would have felt acknowledged and respected. Either way, not looking at your patients is not a very skillful method of evaluation. Not giving creedence to what a patient believes to be true about his or herself, is a precursor to knocking heads, as we did. She did give me the scripts I was after and recommended a lab work-up, which was very helpful. I will use the lab results with another doctor What I really liked about the practice in general was their in-house lab and x-ray. Maybe I should try another doctor. more

Agreed! 11/21/2006

A lot of it depends on which doctor you get. I've been going to the Beauregard Medical Center for about 8 years now and the best doctor there, IMO is Dr. Hurtado. I had a problem with a different doctor telling me that I was run down because I was depressed, even though I did in fact have a sinus infection. Also Dr. Clindinst (sp?) recommended Motrin for trigeminal neuraliga, which is a joke! Trigeminal neuralgia is so painful it is also called "the suicide disease" because many people cannot deal with the pain and take their own lives (google it!). Stick with Dr. Hurtado and Dr. Youssef and you won't be disappointed! more

Good general care 6/24/2005

Beauregard Medical Center is a good group that can see people on short notice whether or not you are a regular patient. I've used them twice and been pleased both times. The doctor I've seen did not use the condescending tone so popular with doctors, and made sure that everything was taken care of. He also didn't try to take care of anything himself that required a specialist, and gave me 2 good referrals. more
