Being a young woman is difficult, especially when trying to deal with automotive people. However, I expect to be believed when I have my car towed in for certain issues. My car had stalled out on a highway off-ramp and had to be towed to a place to be repaired. I wish I hadn't told the 411 guy just to call the local Ford dealership. Since the shop office closed at 4:30 (I was towed in at 5), I was required to fill out a bunch of forms and trust my car keys to the submission of a mailbox outside their front door. Once the car was checked over (what they found was a dry oil tank and a piston knock) and the oil changed, I was informed that my car had not, in fact, stalled out and that I had spent 30 minutes at the side of the road waiting for a tow truck for NO GOOD REASON. Somehow the idea never occured to them that because of the piston knock, all my oil had been burned off, causing the oil pressure to be too low to change gears. But then again, young women never know about such things.
