Americu Credit Union

Recently I decided it was time to make some changes to my banking needs, after a rather ugly incident with my old bank. Details, not terribly important. After looking at a few different options, I decided to give AmeriCU a shot. This federal Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in Rome, NY, and there are other qualifiers that can get you access as well. When I opened my account I met with one of their representatives who was immensely helpful. After opening my account she offered to run my credit report with me and go over it with me, and also gave me some practical advice about refinancing some of my loans. I was very pleased with the amount of personal attention received. This credit union has a couple of branches in Rome, as well as surrounding areas. I love the ease of doing business with them. The services they offer are all just icing on the cake for me. It's great to be able to do all of my banking in one place, and not have to worry about having problems. If you live or work in Rome and are ready for a change, I suggest giving these guys a try! more

My husband and I have accounts with this credit union. We have been very pleased. The customer service is outstanding with plenty of branches and ATM's in the local area. We started dealing with them when we moved to this area and were closing on our mortgage. This was in 2005. The legal department was professional and handled business in a timely manner. Since then we have had other financing needs and have always been treated in a courteous manner. Our sons, under the age of 18 have savings accounts here as well. The only thing I do not like is that the lobby closes at 4:30 rather than 5:00 Monday through Thursday. It would be helpful to see the lobby be open longer during the week. more
