The Stillwater/Oak Park Heights area had many hotels to could choose from, but deciding on the AmericInn for our wedding guests was easy for me ? Id stayed in many before and had always enjoyed myself. My husband and I were looking for specific amenities (such as a pool and continental breakfast) and the Super 8 didn?t have this. And it was very easy to pass on booking Country Inn & Suites due to how we were treated at their Oakdale location. Though the AmericInn could only offer my husband and me a ten room block for our out of town wedding guests and not the 20 we were looking for (hotel was mostly booked for several large events in the Cities), things still turned out well. And though the rooms were a real mix (some with one bed, some with two, some smoking and others non-), every room ended up getting booked by our guests. We got a small discount for booking a room block, which still left the room prices fairly high, but for summer in a tourist city, $140 is probably a steal. Our wedding ended after midnight, so by the time some of our guests got back to the hotel the pool area was closed. However, the staff was nice enough to open the doors and let some of our guests lounge by the pool and have drinks and food. My husband and I were really impressed to hear that. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those looking for room blocks, because the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful and our guests had zero complaints about their stay. We also had a room block at the Fairfield Inn in Hudson, Wisconsin. Rooms were around $109 there after the discount ? our guests staying there had nothing but good things to say as well.
