I talked to Bob Bradford on phone and set up an appoinment for an estimate on installing a concrete footer and block foundation around my mobile home w/ a support structure for the roof. Bob showed up as agreed and showed nothing but a professional attitude. He crawled under the mobile home and inspected what and how it needed to be repaired and explained the procedure to me. After a lot of thought was put into the final decision i decided to go ahead with the project.
Now the mobile home has been in its location since 1987 so i wasn't looking for perfection but, i was looking for at least a professional job. I wanted my home to look decent. Upon completion of the job i inspected it and accepted it. Then about a week later we had a storm come through. That's when i realized that under my front deck where i couldn't really see very good was a pile of dirt that was put there when they dug the footer and not removed which caused the water to back up in my front yard. That got me looking even closer at the foundation under the deck. I saw blocks that had no mortar between them allowing drainage to go under my home and gather with no place to escape along with vents that were upside down and vents that were not sealed in. the drainage pipe that was there i was told was crushed and did not work. i personally went to the drainage pipe and routed it out and the water gushed out for fifteen minutes. I do have pictures of all this.. Like i said earlier i wasn't looking for a perfect job but the people that dug the footer should have at least realized that that pipe was there for the reason of drainage and made sure that it worked when the footer was poured. Very poor decision on there part. Also.. i wanted the tongue removed so it wouldn't show. I mean really how would that look sticking out of a permament foundation. I thought that was included, but to my surprise i was charged an extra 200.00 for it and wasn't told it would. If i was told that, i could have done that myself for free since i am a auto tech with access to a cutting torch.
Another issue i had is... Not a soul working on my project spoke english good enough for me to be able to discuss any aspect of my project. It's very upsetting when you try to explain what you want and they don't understand.. Also when the job was done they took all the cut off blocks and dumped them in the woods on my property.
When i called Bob to complain he said he would get some one there to take care of it... i asked him to call me and let me know when they would be there so i could take off work and be there.. Well they didn't. The only way i knew they had been there was to crawl under the deck... That's when i saw that they had been there.. everything was taken care of at that point.
I spent well over $9,000.00 for a job i feel is not worth $5,000.00 if that. I would not recommend this company to anyone that is looking for foundation installation or drainage issues since they could not even tell what a drainage pipe looks like.
I just wanted my home to look good and have a firm foundation... I don't feel like i got what i paid for.
