Rocky Horror in the Park 4/12/2012

We just saw Rocky 4/11 from on stage seating. The slightly limited views of center-stage were more than compensated for by unique sight lines and perfect sound. The entire production was fantastic. The band was tight and all dialogue and lyrics were strong and clear. We want to see it again from the crowd for a different view of center-stage and hear the call backs better. See you soon when we come again....again and again on your face! Dr and Mrs Phred (Understated Brad & Janet) more

What an incredible professional theatre 2/3/2010

I went to American Stage Theatre Company's new theater on 163 3rd St N to see an incredible production of DOUBT recently. All I can say is ""Wow""! The new theatre is incredible. American Stage has always had the best productions in central Florida, and now they have performance space to match their professionalism. The lobbies (plural) are huge and filled with plenty of comfortable seating areas. The theatre is still intimate but is beautiful and has no blocked views The seats are incredibly comfortable also. If you love great theatre, check them out. more

American Stage in the Park's 6/25/2008

Come again to American Stage in the Park to see the greatest musicals under the stars! But beware; pirates are landing at Demens Landing Park. Gilbert & Sullivan struck musical-comedy gold with their band of wild, chest-pounding, crew of pirates who make it a rule never to hurt orphans (as they are all orphans themselves). THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE is a hilariously colorful storybook adventure of fair maidens, swaggering pirates, bumbling policemen and true love that?s perfect for the entire family.\r \r The story revolves around young Frederic who seeks to leave the Pirate King and his band of scalawags on his rapidly approaching 21st birthday. After falling in love with a Major General?s daughter, Fredric must devise a way to protect his new family from the Pirate King and his nefarious plans, while at the same time finding a way to break free from his obligations to the pirates. Will Frederic save the day?\r \r ""As we continue to evolve this fun spring tradition of theatre under the stars, we're so excited about being able to bring THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE to Bay-area audiences,"" said Todd Olson, American Stage?s producing artistic director. ""Adults and kids alike love this fantastic musical that?s part ?Pirates of the Caribbean? and part ?Monte Python?s Flying Circus?, and it's just the kind of outdoor experience we've always wanted for the Park.""\r \r Tickets prices for general admission lawn seats are $11-$13 for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday performances and $14-16 for Friday and Saturday performances. Reserved chair seating \r is $27 and premium blanket seating is $21 for all performances.\r Kids 12 and under are free on the lawn.\r Pay What You Can nights are April 9 and 10.\r Gala Under the Stars will be April 11 (fundraiser).\r Please call the American Stage Box Office at (727) 823-PLAY (7529) to purchase tickets. Pros: Outdoor theatre at its finest Cons: Seating is set up oddly more

  • The Place
Referred to as ""theater in the corner"" by one visiting director, the space itself, with raked seating on two sides of a square stage, might be considered awkward. However,...
