American Male

I bought the male grooming experience thinking that it would be a good opportunity to try a new salon since moving to Vegas. When I arrived, I was shown around and offered a drink which was nice. I was introduced to my Stylist (Grethel) whom was very nice. However she didn't seem to listen to what I wanted her to do with my hair. I asked for some edgy layers around the top and sides so that it would grow out nicely and described that I wanted to keep my bangs quite heavy so that I could style it to one side. She suggested that I wanted my hair to be more 'modern'. By the end, she had cut my bangs much shorter than I had asked her to and the layers were nothing special. I have quite fine hair, which I normally style with American Crew Defining Paste to give it a matte finish (I told her this) but she used a styling gel which she should know doesn't work for my hair type...she dried the gel in to my hair (I thought this might be a new way I could style my hair) and then swept it back in some sort of 'fashion' and asked me if I liked it swept back...I told her no and she brought it forward in to some sort of 90s boy band center parting. MODERN? I think not!! The paraffin hand dip was a nice addition to the visit...but as the main reason I went there was to get my hair styled, I'm not overly pleased with the fact that my 'stylist' didn't listen to what I actually wanted from her. All in all, it COULD have been a good experience but since my stylist thought that 'modern' was something from the mid 1990's, it made the experience rather unpleasant because now I have a hair style that I am dissatisfied with. more

They had me in and out in no time! fast and affordable and very good at cuts, I was lined up nicely and iv never looked better! very good place i do recommend. more

For $38 you get a haircut, shampoo before and after, a facial and scalp massage and so its a great deal. The one bad thing is during the massage part, the stylists were talking back and forth loudly and flippantly about random drama of their own with other girls. Distracting and got a bit annoying.\r \r I will go back, I just hope its not the same drama again Pros: A lot for a little money Cons: Stylists talking to each other a lot more

Went for a haircut and this was a nice place. Relaxed environment, clean facilities good touches. Such as, free drinks, little bit of a massage, etc. Check out their website for more. For $38, well worth the money. Not a rushed environment. Only downside for me, it is on the oppisite end of town, but worth the drive on a weekend. Pros: Nice touch firendly people good cut. I have to admit that even with all the good reviews on here I was skeptical as it seemed a bit pricey. After all was said and done, I must admit that it is worth every penny. The Staff was incredibly friendly, and the service second to none. I have had many bad experiences with past hair stylists not listening to me and doing whatever they wanted... NOT HERE. I felt so good and was so pleased with the service I immediately set up my next appointment. To all you ""manly men"" don't be afraid of being a little soft and pampered, you'll feel great after. AWESOME.!!!!was recommended to american male by a friend. I must be honest i never ventured outiside the great clips and other fast hair cutting salons; however, will never go back to them after my very first visit to A.Male. From the very moment i stepped inside the salon, the receptionist makes u feel like they appreciate ur business and makes u feel welcome. I would recommend the hair package, as it comes with a mini facial and something with hot wax thats supposed to help...well..its just pure relaxing...and did i mention plasma's and free drinks? This place is wonderful! From the moment you step in, you are treated so well. The staff makes you feel welcome and the service is second to none. They offer you a complementary drink, have massage chairs while you're waiting, plasma tv to watch, and even internet stations to use! The most basic service includes hand paraffin wax and a mini facial... (I have to admit the facial with the scalp massage is about the best part. It is so realxing and feels so good!) Guy's... you need to try it once... warning... you will get hooked! more

This place is great. A totally unique experience for guys. The staff is friendly and fun and they really know thier stuff. I never thought that I would be into getting my hands and feet done along with my hair, but now that I have done it, I can't live without it. I also recently got a facial. It was great, and I felt so good after. A little papmering is a good thing. Highly recommended! more

This place is great. The best place to get your hair cut. They give scalp massages and face rubs, which is all included with the haircut. Amy is the best, and everyone is very nice. I generally show up early to sit in the massage chairs and have a drink, usually water or a beer. They always call the day before so you don't forget. I have told a bunch of my friends its the best place to go. It is quite a ways from my house, but i will always go here no matter which part of Vegas i live in. more

its like the best place to go, from the time you arrive to the time you leave they cater to every need to make sure your experience with them is perfect. I will wait to have my hair cut if i cannot get in when i want to because of scheduling, but they always try to make your time fit if there is anyway possible. I have had a few of the girls there do my hair and they are always professional to make sure it is exactly what i want, i love the parafin wax treatment and the facial massage you get when they are washing and conditioning your hair, it is truely an experience everyone guy should try, i only recommend American Male to all my business associates and clients, so when its time for your next haircut manicure facial or waxing give them a try i know you will keep going back Pros: Everything easy access, staff are out of this world Cons: At this time i really cannot think of any more

It only took long enough for someone to realize that men are important too! If you want to truly look your best and not spending a fortune like all those other ""high end"" foo foo joints, American Male is the ultimate place for Men!!! Rod & the whole team treat you as if you are one of the family. It's warm and welcoming from the time you walk in. To relaxing in a massage chair, latest released movie on the big screen to a refreshing beverage, this place has it all. Oh, and I forgot to mention, that is all before you even start to get your service! I start to go into withdrawls if I don't get my monthly ""manscaping"" done there. From hair to nails, facials, this place has it all!!! The staff is fantastic and the 2 stylists I use are extraordinary! From the moment that you walk into American Male you are treated like a VIP guest. The services offered are top notch and really affordable. I have been going to American Male now for over a year. I look forward to being pampered each visit with a relaxing face and scalp massage before my haircut. I would highly encourage everyone to check this out. I have been going to American Male since their grand opening. It is a great place to get a cut and get away from my day. Not only do they cut hair, but the service includes a shampoo, a hot towel and a facial massage while they are doing the shampoo. They also do a parafin hand dip that feels great. I use the time there for my ""me time"". It allows me to relax. The staff is very courteous and it just feels comfortable to be in the salon. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent service, a great cut and perhaps a little down time in the midst of our crazy lives. more

Ever since the first time i went to the salon i was immediately in love. the whole experience from the moment you walk in the door with a big screen TV. free internet access a complimentary drink and a massage chair all before you even check in! Everyone is extremely professional. It feels as though everyone truly enjoys being there and it isn't ""just another job"" like most places you go to. From the haircut, to the parafin hand wax, to the warm towel wrap, the mini facial, and the scalp massage. Why would you want to go anywhere else. Plus they have a referral program where if you refer 6 new customers then you get free haircuts for 1 year and the people who you refer get $10.00 off. What a deal. This was the first place I ever went to that I really felt pampered. All the beautiful girls there really know how to take care of you, and they really know what they're doing not like those cheap assembly-line haircut places I used to go to. They all do a great job with everything I get done there, like hair removal, hands and feet. They always give me a great scalp massage when I get a haircut, or foot massage when I get my feet done. I highly recommended this place for any guy that wants to feel special and treated like a king. American Male is great. The quality of service and professionalism is outstanding. I highly recommend it.\r It has a great atmosphere and everyone is extremely friendly. Sara is the stylist who cuts my hair and she is the best. My hair always looks excellent when she is finished. All though this is a salon that caters to males, I , as a VERY PICKY female, absolutely love it. I have found the goddess of a stylist in Stacey. Anyone desiring a perfect hair cut, Stacy is your girl. I feel absolutely spoiled from the time I walk in. I am treated as a personal friend, given a wine, shampoo (with message), condition (with message), and more importantly, given the most divine hair cut. Also, the hand waxing is absolutely decadent. The salon is clean, tastfully decorated, tv's everywhere (!), and even a computer station for your entertainment. American Male does not throw you in a chair, hack away, then throw you out. I look forward to my monthly visits, and would rearrange my entire schedule to keep my appointments. Did I mention I was VERY PICKY? So, what are you waiting for??? more

American Male Salon has been a sanctuary for me for over a year and a half. Its a place guys can go to receive a phenominal haircut, and outstanding spa services. Women have these amenities available to them all over the city, it's great that we guys now have this available to us without the pink decor. They at American Male have set the bar and constantly strive to raise the standard. Walking in and receiving a free beverage, now even beer or wine help you to relax right away. Then, if your early you can select a zero gravity ""Relax-The-Back"" recliner to take a load off in complete comfort. Checking your email is also available to you as they provide several computers with internet access. During the services you recieve shampoo and conditioning before AND after, that way you never leave with little hairs all over yourself, parafin wax for your hands, and a mini facial all for around thirty something dollars. It's amazing. I've sent every one I could to experience it, because it's just something you have to see and do for yourself. The owners and staff are amazing, and will always treat you as a friend whenever you walk through the doors. more
