I used this company for 10 years and then a high pressure salesman talked me into a new company with ""updated equipment"". I was VERY unhappy with their equipment, their high pressure sales and the fact the alarm went off all night long the 1st night and there was no one available to talk to until 8am. I called American Security and informed them of what I had done and they worked with me to upgrade my equipment as I wanted and had someone out that day so I didn't have to go another night with an alarm triggering at least once an hour. It was so wonderful after my short experience with the horrible company to actually reach someone directly on the phone that cared rather than punch buttons, get put on perma-hold. I HIGHLY recommend them. (and also recommend checking with the Better Business Bureau before going to any other alarm company). Pros: Real people answer the phone, service is available 24 hours more

I am a customer of American Home Security and had their service for 2 months! They have charged me an unauthorized fee or $99. I have called their office and no one picks up. I called the salesman and he told me that they don't care about the $99! They are never avaliable and do not know what is going on! I called ADT myself and cancelled my service, they do not stick with the terms of the contract and I will never recommend them to anyone! I recommend writing to the better business bureau so they do no get away with it! Cons: unauthorized charges more

I DEALT WITH THIS COMPANY ONLY TO FIND OUT THEY ARE ONLY OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY. WHICH WOULD BE FINE IF THEY ACTUALLY PROVIDED A SERVICE WORTH THE MONEY. CHEAP USED EQUIPMENT, AND THEY HOOK YOU UP WITH AN OFFSHORE MONITORING COMPANY, DON'T PROVIDE UPFRONT INFORMATION, AND ARE NEVER AVAILABLE AFTER THEY TRAP YOU. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH AND GO WITH A LOCAL COMPANY WITH REFERENCES IF YOU WANT AN ALARM. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE AND I RIPPED IT OUT OF MY HOUSE AND STILL HAVE TO PAY. more

As a current customer in a contract, I am unable to get them to service my security system! They will never call me back even for basic questions! Cannot get through the ADT telephone maze, and they will not answer questions regarding my bill in a succinct manner. They are unpleasant and miserable to deal with. Very unprofessional. Do not use!!! Pros: NONE. Cons: Service!!!! more
