Service person came to fix my dryer, which had stopped heating up. Told me he tested my igniter and that it was faulty. He did the same test on the new igniter he had brought with him and got the same result. He decided to install it to try it anyway. He later found the actual problem was the gas valve. I'm fine with the ""try everything until you find the broken part"" approach but then he charged me $90 for the igniter he d replaced, which wasn't the problem. Was I supposed to keep paying for parts that weren t faulty until they figured it out? I would ve given them 4 stars if they d not charged me for unneeded parts.
