Save your self the time and the 199.00 fee, This Liying dude Brian Michaels and his fake crew will take you money snap a picture and send you on your way to unemployment. Needless to say I didnt get that job or any other bartending job based on this place. I feel like going back to beat my $199.00 out of this liyin more

AVOID THIS PLACE 2/15/2011

This place is a joke. I was tricked through their Craigslist ad, thinking this was a job opening. After going all the way to Queens for my ""job interview"", I quickly realized that was not the case. After being (foolishly) persuaded by the manager (?), Brian, I signed up for it. The ""teacher"" does not seem qualified at all, and he has no structure in his ""lessons"". It felt like a complete rip-off and he was not about actually teaching the students anything thoroughly. To me, it seemed like he spent more time talking complete BS. After taking the 8 hour class (which was really 6 hours), I tried the job line, even though it felt like I hadn?t learned anything. They sent me to a restaurant in Brooklyn... Which didn?t even exist (!!??) I got fed up, and I know it?s not easy to find a bartending job in NYC without experience. Frankly, it?s almost impossible. I signed up for a more serious, and yes, more expensive, bartending school, where they help you write your resume etc. PLEASE, AVOID THIS PLACE! It?s 200$ down the drain. more

Sooooo much fun and the chics are nonstop! 10/16/2010

Hey, I love this job. Recently moved to NY to study film at NYU. Didn't have much time to work but needed the cash to live. ABA taught me the ""art"" of mixology which gave me the confidence to land a job at a high traffic hipster bar in Williamsburg. I only work weekends and am taking home about $600 in tips at the end of the weekend. This sure beats working a night job every evening after school. And I need not discuss the fringe benefits. LOL. more

best job I've ever had 10/16/2010

I have been out of work for six months having been fired after My boss's wife felt I was having an affair with her husband more

American Bartenders Association 6/14/2010

I am writing this review in hopes of helping others avoid the experience I had so listen up. If you are looking for a chance to train and work as a bartender look elsewhere. This place is not legitimate. I wish I had read a review of this place before I shelled out 200.00 for jobs that are already posted on Craigslist. Brian Michaels is a modern day Rumplestiltskin if I ever saw one. he will tell you he has contacts with bars and Hugo tells you its okay to lie on your resume. If you are in the mood for a scam go there. Pros: nothing Cons: just a notch above a scam more

Great Bartending School 6/3/2010

Im a 22 year old college student and I needed to make extra money on a part time job....the economy is very hard and nobody is hiring...thank god I found ABA.. They train you to be a Bartender in as little as 8 hours and they give you job placement as well for as cheap as $200.00. Within less then a week i took the course and got placed in a nightclub to work as a bartender. Im making money and having fun at the sametime! Enrolling in ABA was he best decision i could have made..well after enrolling in Medical School of Course! Pros: very cheap for the great service you get more

Avoid This Place!!! 7/22/2009

These people will take your money and not deliver. Their 8-hour class is a joke. Their job placement non-existent. Avoid at all costs. Cons: Can't do what they say more
