I have been bringing my beloved pets to American Animal Hospital since 1985. Dr. Mahoney, Dr. Harness, Dr. Gaywandt and the entire staff of AAH have always given my pets the highest quality of care. I have total faith in the services provided and have decades of proof to their superior, knowledgeable and compassionate care. Not only are their skills exceptional, but the office is run professionally by Sara Holte and reception is a pleasurable experience due to Shelly, Laura and the entire staff. Several of my dogs have been adopted from rescues and have had special medical and emotional needs which have been met at AAH. Suzy, Amber, Linda, Rachel, Julie - everyone there has been patient and loving to my girls! Also, Clint Harness has given laser treatments to my dogs which have been a positive, proactive way to promote their healing after a procedure or health issue. There are no words to express my gratitude to the entire staff of American Animal Hospital! more

Dr. Mahoney and American Animal Hospital 7/4/2011

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Mahoney and the staff at American Animal Hospital. The care and compassion that he and the health care team shows to all members of our multi-pet household is second to none. He is up to date on all the latest advances in the field of veterinary medicine. He takes the time to thoroughly explain lab results, medications and treatment options. He has even called me on weekends, holidays or from his vacation to check on the status of one of my seriously ill pets. By selecting Dr.Mahoney and American Animal Hospital for your animal companions you are getting them THE BEST care in the area. Penny and Gabe Wilson more

Dr. Harness 3/6/2011

Dr. Harness and American Animal Hospital is the best! Our cat BJ was very sick. I had taken him to the vet I had gone to for over 20 years and they had told me he had FIP and could not do any thing for him. I did not believe this is what he had. A freind had told me to take him to Dr. Harness. I brought him in and we were treated so good. I told her about BJ and after a extensive exam she could see he had alot of pain in his rear legs and put him on pain medication. He was doing much better when he got very sick again. He then had a ear infection and inner ear infection and also upper resperatory infection. He was put on medication for this also. He is now doing great. He is a healthy cat thanks to Dr. Harness. She never gave up on him through all of this. I will never take my pets any where else!! Thanks again for caring so much!! more

Dr. Harness at American Animal Hospital is Excellent 2/22/2011

Dr. Harness goes above and beyond to help pets. She is very intelligent and knows all the latest research about treatment and surgery options when your pet is in need. She has a special expertise for cats and kittens and does a great job taking care of my cats. She is very thorough and will take the time to talk things through with you. She also has a huge heart and helps out a lot at Orphan Animal Rescue which is also in Neenah and has helped save the lives of many pets in need. She is absolutely wonderful! more

Second to None 2/9/2011

My husband and I never thought that a small lump on our beloved black lab, Gus, would turn out to be stage II mast cell cancer at the ripe old age of 5! Immediately, the staff at American Animal Hospital where there to answer our questions, support us, and help calm our anxieties. Moreover, they did so in such a compassionate and yet honest manner. They were right with us throughout Gus? surgery and subsequent chemo treatments. I will never forget how they kept the clinic open for Gus when we called them at 5:20 with an emergency when they were supposed to close at 5:30. They stayed open with smiles on their faces and had genuine concern. Because of the close and careful monitoring of American Animal Hospital?s staff, I am happy to report that Gus is now a year out from receiving his last chemo treatment and he is healthy and living life to the fullest! The entire staff is second to none. Quality veterinary care is the norm and not the exception at American Animal Hospital. more

American Animal Hospital is THE best 2/8/2011

If you really want the best for your pet(s), take them to American Animal Hospital! They are a member of the AAHA, which shows a lot about their level of training and committment. In the 35 years since I have been going there, they have always been caring, competent, and compassionate. At several points they have even saved my pet's lives by coming in after hours to take care of them. When they say that they treat you like family, they actually mean it! Whenever I go there I feel like I am at home with my caring friends and family. more

American Animal Hospital is THE best 2/7/2011

When American Animal Hospital says that they treat you like family, they really mean it. I have been a client there for 35 years and have always been more than pleased by their compassion, caring, expertise, and committment. They also hold the AAHA accreditation which says a lot about their training and level of service. They have always gone over and above to help me with any pet concerns and have saved a couple of my pets' lives. When I go there I feel like I am home among caring friends. more

Be Careful 6/18/2010

Initially brought my puppy in for checkup and paid a bit more than other vets. However when I scheduled her to get spayed I was given a treatment plan with an estimate of $315. I showed up the morning of the surgery and was shown another treatment plan with an estimate between $550-$630. Wow! Was I shocked! All sorts of items/procedures listed under the plan but was not told why those were needed for a simple spay. Needless to say we did not go through with surgery and I have since found a new vet with a nicer facility, kind staff and a spay bill of only $220. Don't let yourself be put in the same situation I was, choose a different vet. more
