Amelishan Bridal

I really can't understand how anyone could give this place a negative rating. Maybe those people were in bad moods before going in. My sister and I both got our wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses there (not at the same time), so we've been there numerous times. The people were always EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. In fact, we went to a few other salons, but we always went back to Amelishan. We were both impressed with the family atmosphere, and we felt extremely comfortable. Some of the other places we went to were pretty snooty, but not Amelishan. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to every bride, bridesmaid, MOB, MOG, prom go-er, and anybody else. I got engaged about a week ago and was asking around for referalls for where to shop for bridal gowns. I was amazed by how many people referred Amelishan Bridal . So many of my friends and fellow employees have gone there and all have loved it. I was so excited to start shopping that I made an appointment right away for that weekend. I was so happy that I stopped there. Everyone was so nice to me. I worked with Suzanne, she helped me pick out dresses and get into them. I wasn't prepared to have someone help me into the dresses, but she made me feel so comfortable. I tried on so many dresses and she was so patient with me. One of the owners even came up to me and gave me suggestions which I thought was so nice of her. After I picked my gown out, (and got my Amelishan Bag and rewards program key chain!!) I looked at Bridesmaid dresses and everyone kept on coming up to me and asking if I had any questions or giving me advice. I've never recieved such wonderful service. And it's a great atmosphere, (which is great if you're a frazzled bride like me!) I would recommend Amelishan Bridal to anyone and everyone. Great Mothers selection too! Only gripe is that weekends seem to be a bit crazy there, I also went back on a weeknight and it was a bit calmer. I was recently a bridesmaid and this store did a very poor job with everything from customer service to the dresses. First off - a few of the dresses came in about two to four inches shorter than standard length and had to be re-ordered. The dresses that were re-ordered came in with spots on them. Since the re-orders came in less than two weeks before the wedding - there was nothing to do but clean them and hope for the best. Unfortunately - we didnt realize until the day of the wedding that the re-ordered dresses were not the same color as the rest of the dresses (about three shades darker). All the dresses should have been re-ordered to ensure consistency and Amelishan should have known that (and likely did). Many of the dresses had zippers that went diagonal across the back - poorly constructed overall. The most frustrating part of the situation was that when the re-orders came in - they did not check to be sure they were appropriate length and after spots were discovered on one - didnt be sure that the rest were free of spots (which they were not). The store consistently did not take responsibility for the mistakes, did not offer any sort of discount even though I made five different trips out there (from half hour away) for the dress and since the re-order came in so close to the wedding - I had no choice but to use their grossly overpriced alterations department. Each time i called - I had to re-explain the story to try to get some help and the women at the store were for the most part, snotty and condescending to the bridesmaids who were trying to fix the various issues with the dresses. The only reason the dresses came out okay at all were on account of efforts by the bride, her mom and the bridesmaids. Amelishan was unprofessional , carries low quality dresses and does not take responsibility for their products, mistakes or poor customer service. I would never use this store - they are lacking on every front and were unpleasant to deal with. more

My sister is the bride and when we went there they bad mouthed me and my suggestions to my sister in the dressing room. When my mom was looking at color swatches another employee came up to her and snapped the books out of her hands. My mom said she was looking at them and she said it was too bad because they were going to be closing soon! The dress my sister picked was $1200 here and everywhere else it was a little over $800! Mark up is one thing but this is rediculous! Go to Beratti Bridal in Germantown instead! She bends over backwards to get you what you want. Even if she doesn't have it in her shop she will try to get it for you. That is excellent customer service! Amelishan could learn a few things. And she is honest with you. You won't catch her peeing on you and telling you it's raining! That's for sure! If she doesn't think it flatters you she will let you know. It's not all about the sale. Very comfortable! Stay away from Amelishan at all costs! Unless you want to waste your money and everything goes smoothly it won't be pretty! You're the bride. You should be able to relax enjoy the process! I just got engaged on May 28th of this year and was surprised that I came up with an August 20th, 2006 wedding date. I must be crazy! Pros: Great customer service, great prices, fabulous gowns and a large selection Cons: I can only get married once! :) more

Please be warned. My dress had a spot on it and they blamed me. Than there were a TON of beeds missing they were going to fix it. At first told me it was going to be fixed by a seamstress, came to find out it was just a employee who knew how to sew horribly. There were beads in places that they weren't suppose to be and when I pointed out the one two would fall off!! They were going to order a new dress and than I had to ask what was going on and oh, we forgot to tell you it's dis-continued!! The worst customer service, I was never helped I always had to ask. Just very unprofessional staff and owners. Oh the owner was the worst of them all. She was of no help and didn't care to answer any of my concerns or do anything.
