I bought my dress from the Commack wedding center but when it came to alterations I felt like they seemed very impersonal and very rushed. So I took my gown to alterations unlimited and couldn't be happier! The dress fits me perfectly and I will never go to another alterations place again! more

PHENOMENAL! Gina and her team are absolutely incredible. I needed someone to alter my wedding gown and was really hesitant to go to someone that I didn't have any experience with...but they did not let me down. My dress was about 2 sizes too big and the entire top was beaded - they basically remade the entire dress in about 2 weeks (it was done a week earlier than they said it would be) AND it fit perfectly! Not only that, but they created a 3-tier bustle so that the back of my gown would always be visible. I've heard of so many horror stories when it comes to wedding gowns - I wouldn't trust mine with anyone else - seriously - go to Gina! more

Gina and her team were the best seamstresses ever. From the moment I walked in to her shop I had full confidence that she could make my sample wedding dress into the dream gown in my head. I wanted to change the shape of the dress completely and make it two sizes smaller. She was super quick and my wedding dress is finally exactly what I had envisioned! more

Gina is a miracle worker! I wanted to wear my mother’s wedding dress for my wedding-needless to say it needed a bit (okay, a lot!) of “modernization” and I wasn’t sure if such an undertaking would be possible, or extremely expensive. I took the dress to Gina and described to her what I was looking for. She and Ilkay talked through their ideas with me to restore the dress, always keeping in mind what I wanted. They completely modernized the dress but retain its original detail –EXACTLY what I was hoping for! The dress came out ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and I could not be happier!! It looks like something I would have picked right off the rack at a fancy store! I was nervous having anything done to the dress but Gina’s work is absolutely amazing!! Gina thought of everything - given the age of the dress she even made sure to check that all of the seams were still holding together so that nothing would come loose on my big day! There were also several 30 year-old stains on the dress that Gina managed to get out. Gina’s prices were extremely reasonable and she had the dress ready very quickly- I do not live nearby and Gina made sure to have the work completed so that I could come in for fittings whenever I was in town. I HIGHLY recommend Alterations by Gina!!! more

She greets you as if you are apart of her family. She is honest with you and her prices are fair. Her tailoring is magnificent. I bring everything I own to her and time after time she does a perfect job. It is a bit of a trek to get to her but every time I pick up my clothes it was worth it. I can not praise her enough for the work she has done with my shirts and pants. Thanks Gina and see you next week. more

Gina altered my second wedding dress- and it looked absolutely beautiful. I was nervous about having such an expensive dress altered but Gina's work was even better than the expensive tailor I used for my ceremony dress in my wedding boutique. I asked a coworker for a recommendation for a tailor and told her it was for my reception dress and she gave me Gina's information. I'm so happy she did. I have so many tailors right near me, but they're overpriced and the service is awful. Gina also recently took in a dress for me, she had to remove a zipper to take in the sides and it was definitely not as straightforward as a hem job. Not only that but I gave her the dress Wed and told her I needed it for Sat. Unfortunately for Gina this is a very busy time with the holidays, etc. but Gina promised me it would be ready come Saturday. Meanwhile on Thursday (less than 24hrs later) I got a voicemail from Gina that my dress was ready. Again the quality of work was amazing and the dress was perfect! All that and it was only $40. I drive from the Jericho area all the way to Deer Park for Gina! For $40 near me I'd be lucky to get a pair of pants hemmed. I am and will remain a faithful patron of Gina's forever! If you're looking for an excellent tailor but don't need the fancy storefront, stuck up employees and overpriced poor workmanship then Alterations by Gina is your place. I finally found a person who is excellent at what she does, very accomodating and versatile. Not only has she altered intricate beaded dresses for me... she also fits and alters my husband's suits flawlessly! more
