This review is primarilly in response to breanna l 'and claudia a.'s reviews. They couldn't be more wrong. Dr Budde's is not out to just get your money. Yes the waiting room is not modern or spotless, but look at how old the building is. Don't mistake "not modern" for "filthy". I have been to other vets in the Hayward/Fremont area, and came back to Dr Budde because of the excelent care and knowledge (of both her and her staff). If Dr Budde sugested that breanna use the same meds as her husbands for her rabbit's pink eye, thats to save her money. I was having to spend a conciderable amt on antibiotics fior my rott, and she was able to source up a human alternative that was half the price! When my rott was diagnosed with bone cancer, she gave me the treatment options and the chances of success, and left the decission up to me, of when to put my rott down. My dog Kali had been lazy, uninterested in food and wasn't acting right- I knew something was wrong when she didn't get better after a a couple days. I called my regular vet and they said she was fine and probably just in a dry heat cycle. I wasn't convinced, so on a friends recommendation, I called Dr. Budde's office. I have only wonderful thigs to say about this clinc. My puppy gets into things and one day he started vomiting and didn't want to eat- I was so worried and Dr Budde and her staff were so compassionate and caring with me. They explained everything in detail and did things in steps- which made the horrible experience much easier to handle. My puppy, Axel who is now almost a full grown dog, pulled through thanks to their attention to detail and even though we have since moved out of the area, I still drive to Alta Vista- I wouldn't trust anyone else with my Axel! more

I took my rabbit here because they were the only place nearby that saw exotics. I did have a coupon for a free exam. Once I said that she pretty much stopped looking at my pet and said it had pink eye which it caught from my boyfriend. She told us to just use the same meds. Honestly I was willing to pay whatever it took but she seems only interested in the money. The place was dirty and the vet dresses like barbie in high heels and a dress not at all what you would wear when actually handling animals! Would NEVER go back more

Took my pets their for several years. Cleanliness in the waiting room is somewhat lacking but I overlooked it as my animals seem to get good care. My dog in particular suffered from hip dysplasia and was in a great deal of pain. We were giving shots $25. each every three weeks and this did relieve the pain. The shots were down to once a week and the dog was not getting any relief. My husband and I decided to put the dog down and when we took him in the vet told us that she could see in his eyes that he wasn't ready to go. Being up with the dog several night I knew this was not the case. This made me wonder if it was only the money she was after. I think she was helpful in the beginning but when the owner decided the pet has had enough its cruel for the vet to manipulate the owners emotions. more
