Pretty good bike shop/sporting goods store 11/7/2005

The Alpine Shop is not your typical sporting goods store. It carries more outdoor camping, skiing, snow sports gear as well as biking stuff. They have a variety of bikes to choose from and offer some pretty good deals. The best thing they offer are the free classes. I attended the bike tuneup class which is invaluable to doing basic bike maintenance yourself. Highly recommended. more

good store with wide selection 9/24/2005

This is a great store for certain types of sporting gear and equipment. Prices can be a little steep here, but as usual you pay for the shopping experience and the fact that this is a local store and not a large chain. Staff can be both helpful and a hindrance, depending on who you happen to get on the day that you go. Make sure you go in knowing what you want and what types of things you are looking for. more

right in Kirkwood, Alpine outfits 7/19/2005

Pretty much your one stop shop for any and all outdoor gear and clothing. The staff is vastly experienced and could sell you the store if you really needed it. Beware of snobbery from some if you're inexperienced or dont have much to spend- otherwise enjoy the massive selection and feeling of competence Alpine provides.
