I called Aloha a couple weeks ago and spoke to the manager, Connie, to discuss monthly rental. We discussed my rig. We discussed my dogs. It was all good. Connie seemed very reasonable and nice.
She said the dogs would be okay as long as they don't cause any problems for the park or the other guests. I asked what problems she had in the past. She mentioned 3 specific problems: aggression, mess/odor, barking. All very reasonable concerns.
I have gentle, friendly dogs so aggression is a non-issue. I clean up after my dogs, and I know how to keep a place odor-free so that is a non-issue for me too.
Recognizing that barking could be an issue anywhere, I put bark collars on my dogs and made sure they were effective *before* I called back to book a site. Expensive and less than ideal but a necessary evil.
When I called back to book a site, the difference in Connie was like Jekyll and Hyde. All I said was I had called previously to discuss a site for me and my dogs and I was ready to book one, and she completely freaked out on me.
She became angry and started shouting into the phone. She just went completely nuts ranting about dogs barking without ever giving me an opportunity to explain how I had already addressed the issue for my dogs.
Connie's neurosis has left me in the lurch. Even if the folks seem nice when you talk to them, this place is best avoided. They can turn on you suddenly, drastically and shockingly.
