Allston Cafe

I love bringing my out-of-town friends here when they visit. This coffeehouse has a punky vibe - there's legit art on the wall and the tables are covered in colorful newspaper. The food is absolutely delicious. I love the everything bagels and french toast. They also have quality drinks - the fruit smoothies are filling, and the iced coffee is the best non-chain coffee in Allston. It can be tough to get a table, and the service is really friendly but slow - so slow that I've had to wait 25 minutes for a bagel to be toasted. But the cashier guy is just so nice, I can't even be that mad about it! Great if you're vegan, they have a bunch of options for alternative diets. As my neighbor said after sampling a piece of the blueberry muffin procured at 10:59pm on a Saturday night in passing: ""That's some good muffin!"" --from half a block away. I concur. Pros: Wicked yummy and great staff! Cons: They aren't open 24/7 more

so besides their awesome ice cream.. they have a variety of breakfast options. their pancakes are pretty good, especially the chocolate chip pancakes. there isn't a lot of seating, but the place is cute and inviting. more

Okay, so their cookies and cream is the BEST... but I had an excellent turkey sandwich too (they do lunch now, yay!) and quality iced tea as well. Decent prices, fun atmosphere. Pros: very yummy!, good value!, interesting place! more
