Not What You Think 7/18/2015

I would say that every job has their drawbacks but this job is great. I think at first they had some kinks here and there as they tried to get situated but if you stick with it, if you get the job, you'll love it there. It's a very friendly atmosphere and we are getting paid pretty decently. The people there are really trying their hardest to make every new person feel welcomed there. There is room to grow there, if you want a job that you can move up and around in then this is the start. I would say that they did in the past have people from Ohio come down to teach but now we have the best trainer in the world that can give you a lot of insight on what the agents have to learn in just three weeks. Three weeks! We get to learn all about it in seven. The people are great here and would bend over backwards to find out ways to welcome you. This is my first ever call center job and I am already in love with it. more

Not Paid for Four Weeks and The Pay Stinks 9/10/2014

Steer clear of this employer. It makes its money on the backs of its employees. Here is what I mean: Several people from my training class were not paid until week 5 (when we are paid biweekly) and went to HR idiot named Julie who said she could not help them. The benefits that were to be available from week one were not available until several weeks later. The touted pension is Allstate stock and amounts to 1.3k per year (big whoop) and the hourly rate is $13 per hour and no commission or bonus. The systems are atrociously fragmented (created by individuals with job security in mind) and the myriad of systems - over 20 is not worth the mere $13 per hour. This is what I was paid back in 2003 for a similar job, for god sakes. The call center managers were hired off the street - never had a lick of insurance training in their lives and are in the classroom with you. Their big thing is to run around the class and kick coworkers off the gaming sites and cell phones. There is no supporting mass transit and Allstate is not about to pony up to get a shuttle when it can draw on the housewives of Draper who are happy to earn just enough money to go shopping. The training stunk because of the many systems and trainers who were switching out to go back to beloved OHIO whenever they could. This is not a career enhancing job and there is little opportunity for growth despite what is said. Although the job is to assist the agents, the trainers regularly insult the agents leaving one to speculate as to whether or not Allstate continues to be ranked at the bottom for lousy customer service. I sure as hell would not buy their products. more
