I have a family member who is a resident of Allis care Center. He entered the facility for rehab due to some mobility issues with an unknown cause. I can honestly say his health has worsened since he arrived there. They act like they care when a new patient is admitted but once they've met with the family and assured them that their loved one is in good hands, it's all down hill. The rooms are tiny and unless you have superior medical insurance, your loved one is stuck in a two person room that is barely large enough for one person. The bathroom is shared with the room on the other side... in other words a "Jack & Jill" type of set up. If your loved one is in a wheel chair he/she won't be able to reach the bathroom without help. Good luck waiting for someone to get there in a timely manner. My family member has not been bathed properly or had his hair washed properly since he arrived. This is something he cannot do for himself. I spent almost three hours visiting him recently. His urinals were full. After 3 hours I emptied and rinsed the urinals myself. I then proceeded to clean his room, wipe spilled water from the floor and from his very small cart. I wiped down the dressers and nightstand. There were fruit flies and other small, flying insects in the room because it was so dirty. His sheets hadn't been changed in several days, even though they had spilled coffee on them. The whole placed reeks of urine and the laundry service is horrible. His clothes are disappearing faster than we can provide them. There is a nurse there, tall with brownish hair. She told us she's been there for over 30 yrs. She has the personality of a Piggly Wiggly bag and never seems to have an answer when asked about the smell, the filth, and lack of cleanliness. Messages have been left with the director, who couldn't have been more condescending when we met her, and not returned. Messages to the social worker have also gone unanswered. Don't expect a call back. Avoid this place if possible.
