There WAS a time I would have given 5 stars, but now that they are a ""Republic Services"" owned company, Republic's billing and customer services leaves a LOT to be desired. I have been with AW for many years... NOW, over a $20 misunderstanding, Republic saw fit to send me a letter, stating that ""despite several attempts, our requests for payments have gone unanswered."" I HAD called AW and WAS dealing with them about this misunderstanding. The letter further stated that, ""This letter constitutes FINAL DEMAND for immediate payment of total amount due on your account."" I had JUST gotten the last month service bill, so the ONLY OUTSTANDING amount was this $20. They further threatened ""your account will be turned over to an agency for further collection activities."" with the statement that ""Failure to remit may also result in legal action and the potential assessment of interest, court costs and attorney's fees. Please note that Republic Services companies are trade participants with Dun & Bradstreet, and we regularly report aging information and payment history on our commercial accounts."" This is a RESIDENTIAL ACCOUNT, people. I felt threatened, harassed and VERY upset (NOT good when you are 74 years old). and if ONE more problem arises, I will change to their COMPETITION, a LOCALLY owned company. Also, there is NO( return address for Republic, on the letter NOR on the envelope, only a zip code in the stamp area ""PRESORTED FIRST-C;ASS MAIL,"" ETC. from which it was mailed NOR was it SIGNED by anyone, only said, ""Respectfully, Collections Department. Needless to say, I AM VERY UPSET with Allied Waste AND with Republic Services. Posting this on my FB account, also.
