Let me start by saying I have used Allen's Plumbing on multiple occasions all of which have been sub-par experiences. Allen's was responsible for doing a major repair to the home I am responsible for on Maui. It was a major job that required multiple plumbers and many hours of work. After all was said and done, the bill was almost $7000.00 and when we looked closely at the invoice we were charged for work that was never done. In reality about $5000 (according to their price scheme) of the work we were billed for was actually completed. Well time went by and we had another plumbing problem this time a leak had sprung under the house and appeared to be difficult to get to. We called Allen's and they sent out a technician who proceeded to spend 15 minutes walking the perimeter of the house, and then told us it would be at least $3000 and they would have to cut through the foundation or our hard wood floors to access the leak. We told the technician ""thanks"" but we want a second opinion. We then called Mr. Rooter who sent a technician out right away who was happy to crawl under the house and fix the leak, same day. Total bill $600. Now the story gets really good. A few weeks later we receive a bill from Allen's plumbing for $100 (their onsite quote fee) along with a written quote of $500 for the repair job. I called Allen's and asked for a manager and explained the situation, I told him I thought his technician wrote the $500 quote to cover his own butt, after his 3K quote got shot down, and a prospective customer went elsewhere. The response I received from Allen's management was ""our technicians wouldn't do that"". I explained I was not comfortable paying the invoice until I received a quote that reflected the actual quote given. Since that time Allen's has continued sending invoices and no change has been made. I am paying the invoice to avoid further hassles, but I will never use their service again. I would recommend you do anything but call Allen's for help!
