Editorial review from Citysearch 10/28/2012

Dr. Loughlin is the best veterinarian in this area, period. He is very thorough with his appointments and really wants to help you understand what is going on with your little family member. I've been going to Allen's Veterinary Hospital for 15yrs and Dr. Loughlin is the best Vet I've come across yet. Thank You for what you all do to make your Pet Hospital such a pleasant experience. more

Knowledgeable Vet 5/17/2008

After needing to replace our vet after he passed away. We took our dog to Allen's Our dog was 6 yrs old at the time. He is prone to hot spots and digs himself up every summer. We've tried everything to control and realized ourselves that what worked was keeping him as cool as possible and treat the wounds. After being told it was fleas. He's NEVER had fleas. When we took him to Allen's we discussed this with the vet. He knew exactly what we wre talking about. And told us the next time give him Tavist and explained everything to us. That's when we knew this was the vet for us. Since then he has had to have more teeth removed due to a severe gum infection. He's really prone to these and never exhibits any sign of a problem till it is really severe. They got him right in and he is doing well. I highly recommend this vet if it is in your area. Pros: Boarding and grooming available Cons: None so far more

Great Vet 8/14/2007

My parents first got their puppy from Allen's, the best dog they ever had and they got her for only $40 including all shots! Best $40 ever spent. Anyway, they decided to then continue to bring their dog there, and we have found them to be very compassionate and reasonably priced, compared to many veterinarians in the area. They are honest and it's always very easy to make an appt or to board the dog. Since I recently have gotten my dog, I've been taking her to Allen's and wouldn't go anywhere else! Highly recommended to anyone. Pros: great staff and reasonable prices Cons: kinda a drive more

Great Service, Loving Vet 4/11/2007

Being a first time dog owner, I brought my puppy to Dr. Allen due to many recommendations about his service and attitude towards puppies. He not only met, but exceeded all my expectations, taking over half an hour to talk to me about housetraining, my specific breeds needs and possible complications, how to catch those complications before they became worse and how to give my puppy an overall healthy, happy life. Consequent visits have been just as pleasurable, with a great staff who loves animals always there to help. Pros: Adorable Kittens for sale, great staff, easy to get to, easy parking Cons: none! more

More Concerned with Profit than Healing 11/30/2006

Do not be surprised if the head veterinarian strikes you more as a businessman than as a doctor. If my experience is any indication, he will not be reluctant to leverage your love for your pet to line his pocket. Pros: Some beautiful kittens were available in a cage in the main office. Cons: Operation appears directed more at money-making than health care. more

Compassionate Pet Care 11/21/2006

I am moving out of the area, and I am sad that my dog won't be seeing the veterinarians here anymore. They have been wonderful and compassionate. They love what they do. It shows in how they treat your pets. They also don't charge an arm and a leg for their services. Their prices are a lot more reasonable than other area veterinarians. They are great at fitting in emergencies too. I am going to miss the staff here, but two thousand miles is too far to drive a dog for a checkup or an emergency. Pros: The staff love what they do Cons: None that I can think of more
