They did not actually fix anything and charged hundreds and hundreds of dollars. People like that should not be in a service industry. They are unethical business people and dishonest as well. more

Trustworthy Appliance Service 12/29/2011

Have used Allen & Sons for many years now to help keep my fridge and microwave working. Norman our usual service person is always on time, presentable and knowledgeable. I like the fact he presents options that range in price and whether the unit is worth fixing or note. With the cost of new appliances it is nice to know there is someone who can help keep up the old ones at a fair price. more

RELIABLE SERVICE AND GREAT FOLLOW-UP 12/1/2011

Without Allen & Sons, I'd have no dishwasher, trash compactor, washing machine, dryer or oven. They have fixed ALL of these appliances for me over past few years, and each time they were spot on with the diagnosis, ordering the parts, and following up with rescheduling to install the new parts. They have honored their parts and labor warranties to the letter and beyond. I have been cursed with a defective Thermador oven, and I've had Sean out here multiple times to replace warrantied parts that broke. He's the best oven doctor there is - he not only fixes it, but EXPLAINS exactly what was wrong in a way that helped me make the right decision about the repair. Everyone in customer service, particularly Kari, has gone out of their way to offer a brief service window, make sure techs arrived on time and with the right parts, and has been extremely attentive. more

They will rip you off! Can we say scam? 5/23/2011

I paid 700.00 USD to have this so called CO. fix my washer and dryer only to find out that somehow it leaked? Hmm let me see. I called only to find out that even when we told them gift this set to my sister and it would be going to another location they said it was fine. All was good. Till it leaked and we called to service. Only to be told we voided the warrenty? Anyway If you want to deal with a CO. like this you have been warned "Stay Away" Find a better CO. that will not rip you off and lie to your face. ....PS I opened up the unit to see that they never replaced that parts they said they did and found a nice round hole in a water line. So what says ALLAN AND SONS TO THIS? It never leaked before till it came back from you. more

Great Customer Service 3/22/2011

Pleased with the service I received with Allen and Sons. I had to call for my m/w repair. I am selling my house and needed it repaired asap. Allen did exactly that. Repaired asap. Technician was great and I even had someone from their office call to follow up on the service which I though was great customer service! more

Good call! 3/21/2011

Very good service, thank you guys! I am one of those people who would rather buy a new appliance instead of fixing the old one; I just kept thinking that if it has gone out of order once, it will keep on doing so every once in a while. However, after I bought a very expensive double oven (which has bailed out on me yesterday), I figured that spending another 5-digit figure would be way too much. So I was left with no other choice but to call the repair company. I've called several ones; yet the AAA has given me a very high estimate. Allen and Sons' quote has sounded more appealing. I think I've made a vice decision here. Repairman (Anthony) has come out pretty quickly, he did a great job fixing my Viking, and gave me a 5-year warranty on my service (I find this important). So, here I am, Anthony, leaving you a review. 5 stars out of 5. Thank you very much, you have definitely saved me a lot of money (and nerve cells). I will absolutely recommend this company to my friends. more

Poor Service and Up Sell for higher service charges 1/3/2011

Allen & Son have poorly trained technicians especially when it comes to Refrigerators. I have a problem with my 3 year old GE Refrigerator that after 3 visits the technicians could NOT diagnosis the problem and how to fix it. They also do not tell the truth; my wife was told that they had the parts for the repair and when the technician showed up, he only came with a "tool bag" and fixed nothing. I told him to call his company, to find out about the parts, instead he left without saying a word. Be aware, if you do not have a warranty, they will up sell you for services and parts you do not require. That's how they are able to charge only $29 for the service call. They make up the difference by taking advantage of their customers for services and parts you don't need. Also, they are not very timely, they always run late for their appointments. And their management will not call you back, even if you leave them a message. Very poorly run company from what I can see! more

Had them come out and give me an estimate on the repair. Paid $65... Didnt want to do the repair. They didnt tell me what the problem was! WTF did i pay $65 for??? Crooks! more

Very Kind.... 12/7/2010

I called a couple companies in the phonebook. Allen and Sons seemed to be the best. Their service fee was only $29.99. They never asked me for a credit card. When technician was there I even gave him a personal check. Both the woman that I scheduled the appointment with and the technician were very kind and well mannered. I really enjoyed the service I received. more

This is a great company with a fair way of doing business. I called Allen And Sons because my wife recommended/forced it. In my experience I found them to be a very good company. I think the price was fair and the technician was very experienced. more

Do not use this company! 9/23/2010

I used this company two years ago for major work on my A/C. The worker Eric was great, fast, professional. However, today I called because the A/C is not working and I was informed by the very unprofessional receptionist that they don't have anyone to service an A/C on the roof. I asked her how they planned on fulfilling the 5-year warranty I have? She was rude and robotically repeated "I can't send anyone out because I don't have anyone." The manager was conveniently in a meeting and apparently the owner was not around either. She said they have an A/C contractor but he's "an older gentleman" who doesn't go on the roof. Ok??!!! Because it's a liability!! So apparently they don't have liability insurance for their employees as they state on the website. I am now awaiting a callback from the manager. Not holding my breath. more

Better than fixing it yourself, and cheaper than anyone else 9/13/2010

I have had Allen and sons in the past, Nick was my favorite tech for over 8 years,but he retired, the new guy Arthur was a sweetheart. Lowest service call fee in town and they also match any competitors prices. Last time he came out on August 30th, when I had an issue with my dishwasher. Within minuets he discovered what was wrong and had the part replaced in within the hour. It was $103 for the latch and the door adjustment with the labor and he threw in a free Glisten. I guess I kind of ruined the latch when I was cleaning. more

Thank You Mitch for your great service this weekend. I was very happy with my repair and I recommend this service company to anyone. I thought my Saturday would be completely ruined when my wife told me the fridge was broken. Mitch came and fixed the thing and left me with just enough time to head to the beach. Great Experience 9/2/2010

I was in the repair business for 25 years but at my age I am unable to do repairs myself anymore. I hesitate to call any companies out but I had no choice. I looked in my local phonebook and Allen and Son's was the first ad I called. Their service fee was reasonable so I decided to have him come out to look at my washer that wasn't spinning. I was very satisfied with the service. I didn't get ripped off on price and tech fixed washer within 30 minutes. Better than I probably could've done. Now I have a company to recommend to my friends and family. more

Nice People 8/3/2010

My refrigerator compressor died. Barry of Allen & Sons tried to revive it, but ended up having to replace it. Barry was very professional at all times. I would definitely ask to have him back if I need help with the fridge again. The phone scheduler, Kerry (not sure of spelling), was also very responsible and was very friendly and helpful. Fast, fair prices and they work on weekends 7/21/2010

My Kenmore Freezer started acting up, I ignored it for awhile. On the holiday (4th of July) weekend it went out. I called 2 other companies but they didnt not have anyone until Tuesday (the 6th). Allen And Sons came out on Monday the 5th of July with no extra charge , I wasnt to thrilled about the 3 hour appointment window (it is better than the cable company) but they guy actually showed up 10 min after the beginning of the appointment. He gave me an estimate for $105 which included the labor and the part. It took about an hour to fixed it right in my kitchen. He cleaned my condensers for free, and cleaned after himself. There is also a five year warranty on the part, its been working without any issues since. Word of advice from the tech if you have any suspicions about how the refrigerator is performing call someone immediately because the issue can escalate to damage further the refrigerator.
