Allen Edwards Salon

I've been to this salon twice, and regretted it both times. The first time, the stylist was the owner's daughter and she was so full of herself! The highlights she did were lame - huge chunky stripes on top that I did not ask for, or want. Unfortunately, I went back a second time and found another stylist. She had a bitchy attitude and proceeded to use way too much bleach on my hair (the smell was killing me when it was being applied). She then had to use a toner, (which I had never had to have done before as I've had highlights for years), and my hair turned out gray! I couldn't believe my eyes! I had to go to another stylist at another salon, who then had to use another toner to bring my hair back to a normal color. I will NEVER, EVER go back to Allen Edwards Salon. Find someplace else! The stylists thhere are like trainees with attitudes, and they don't know what they are doing. more

I used to see one hair stylist for years, she left but I still go there and am still happy with the result. For modern cuts, Sam does a fine job. My niece was also very happy with the ""up do"" she got for her prom. Pricey but in line with other high-quality salons. The location is central and you can easily shop or get a coffee right nearby. Parking in the parking structure is a rip off though. more

Samantha is a great hair stylist! I have been going to Sam for over 8 years and highly recommend her services. She is very creative and gives great haircuts and good conversation.Men and women such as myself love her cuts which grow out as if they were cut a week ago... you know how some cuts take a week till they are the length you like? With Sam, the cut looks natural,moves well and grows out looking even better She is very talented. I've watched her career and personal life grow over the years of getting my hair cut. She has loads of integrity and takes care of her customers. The salon ambiance is always friendly and down-to-earth. Samantha has clients in every field,age,and backround. She ROCKS! I had been going there for 2 years. My stylist (I won't mention her name) usually did a pretty good job, but I was just never quite satisfied with my style. The ladies at the front counter are snobbish and seem to look down on you, I was uncomfortable every time I went in. The last time I went there, as I went elsewhere after this last experience, my stylist was chatting so much with her assistant and other nearby stylists that she didn't really listen to me and did the style a little 'off' from what I was asking. When I told her again, after most of the cut was done, what I wanted, she acted frustrated and said I didn't tell her that. Well, if she had been listening instead of chatting she would have heard me. I not only felt invisible, but then she was frustrated she was now late for her next appt. and was burning me with the hairdryer and pulling my hair. I was pretty angry at this point. She is young, (late 20's) as are a lot of the stylists there. She's talented, but I feel she needs a few more years experience in customer satisfaction and concentrating on her work. I will not be returning. I found someone who did my style right the first time, and explained how this person just didn't have the experience or vision to handle it. Such is life. If you are particular and/or have a complicated style, or just like being treated well, I'd suggest trying somewhere else. Pros: modern, attractive salon, free validated parking Cons: younger less experienced stylist who lacks customer service skills more
