Really amazingly useful store 3/19/2012

This store is possibly the greatest friend an art student can have! Prices for many items are drastically reduced in comparison to other stores! If you're a student at Fresno State or Fresno City College, try mentioning your teacher's name to the cashier--sometimes this will activate discounts only available to students, making paying for class items a whole lot less painful. Not only that, but presenting any student ID will automatically take a percentage off your total cost! I can't recommend this store any more than I already do. more

Very helpful, ggod service 12/22/2011

I have always gotten excellent service from Allard's. I do drive across town to get there and it is my preferred place to puchase art supplies. I have also asked for advise for a particular project and they have been equally helpful there. I suspect someone that got bad service there probably inspired it. No one likes demanding and unreasonable people and I know that sort of behavior is one way to recieve poor service. more

Worst Customer Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6/3/2011

The owner and employees are very rude and short with the customers..I would not recommend this store to anyone. I have never experienced such horrible customer service at any location like I have at this one. I would prefer to pay more and stand in lines for hours at any other location for the same product then to ever give them a dime. This store doesnt even deserve one star. more

Allards 5/8/2009

I took art classes in college and this is where I bought all my supplies. They have everything you need and more. Their a little expensive, but it is a specialty shop and you're not going to find this stuff anywhere else. If you're really into art and have extra cash to burn you will love this place. more

Great place to find the ""unfindables"" 1/9/2009

Between Office Depot, Office Max, and the Bulldog Bookstore, Allard's was the only place I could find most of my seemingly unfindable drafting supplies that seem only to be available via the Internet. I also received great deals on art supplies for my art and interior design classes, including student discounts ^_^. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing I wish they had was a website. xD Other than that, kudos to them. <3 Pros: reasonable prices, student discounts, they have supplies I can't find anywhere else! Cons: They need a website. more

Very friendly people, willing to find solutions, knowlageable staff. 9/24/2008

Every time I need something art related weather it's lead for my drafting mechanical pencil (which sometimes different colored lead is hard to find) they are willing to order it for me, and usually call me within a week. Pros: good cust service, good products, knowlageable staff, not too large of a place Cons: need a website, odd location. more

Great! 9/7/2008

I got my cotton duck canvas here and it was much cheaper than I thought it was going to be! They even gave me a little extra, and gave me a student discount. The customer service reps were very warm and welcoming as well. I'll definitely be back for more art supplies! more

Wonderful job framing my painting! 9/5/2008

I brought in a very special painting to be framed to Allards. I was so nervous leaving it there, but they did such a wonderful job! They took their time explaining every step and answering all of my questions. If I have any future framing needs I will be going straight back to them! more

Good for hard to find supplies 8/30/2008

Allard's is a bit pricey, but they can be because they care a variety of art supplies and items that are difficult to find anywhere else around town. \r The staff is professional and friendly. more

An all-around disappointment 4/12/2008

Having lived in the Bay Area for 30 years, the art supply stores in Fresno are extremely disappointing. The owner of this one is a snob and a curmudgeon and his staff is uninspired and not very knowledgeable. They do not seem to want to stock professional grade products, even when you make a request. We prefer to buy local, but unfortunately, Michael's (the chainstore) is better than Allard's (but still not up to our standard, which admittedly, is high.) We spend several thousands of dollars on art supplies every year, but unfortunately, it is all spent on-line and out of the area. Pros: It's next to Trader Joe's... Cons: attitude of staff, variety and quality of product, unwillingness to accommodate more

Allards is at Blackstone and Barstow next to Trader Joes. They have a big selection of art supplies and prices are good too. Supplies for students, like science projects.. more
