The Scene
Who says antique stores have to be all snooty and perfect? This cramped Church Street shop shows that you can peddle things from the good old days and still appeal to a broad customer base. Friendly mom-and-pop style service and a cluttered flea market atmosphere make this a place where you won't feel guilty rummaging around.
The Goods
Standout items include vibrantly colored glassware, dainty floral-patterned tea cups, and costume jewelry fit for Jackie O. Yellowed books and old records line some of the shelves, while trumpet cases and boxes of old comic books peek out underneath tables of assorted knickknacks. If you're an old cookbook collector, you've hit pay dirt. Some of the cookbooks go back to the '60s. Occasionally there are great collector's items like vintage pogo sticks and bulky, 1950s-era refrigerators. But overall, this is not the place you'd come for serious furniture shopping as the pickings are just too slim.
