My first and last contact with this business was today. I called looking for information on boarding my dog for a few nights over the holidays, but was met with some utterly ridiculous answers. The woman was very friendly on the phone, but when asked if they board bigger dogs, she said ""yes any kind"" BUT....not Pitbulls. To me this was astonishing! Firstly, this business's name is ""ALL PETS BOARDING!!!! In this day and age of ""acceptance"", ""Political correctness"", and just about anything anybody says is being deemed ""discrimination"" this so called professional business will not board Pitbulls! When I politely asked for an explanation of this rule, I was told that they do not board in separate kennels and it is a group play setting for all the dogs. If you didn't notice....there wasn't an explanation in that sentence so I asked again for a ""real"" explanation. The woman stuttered, then said that the owner doesn't want ""other"" dog owners to be scared!!! ????? Other owners being scared??? really?? I asked if there had been some horrific incident involving a Pitbull that brought this about and was told NO, that the owner just didn't want his ""Pitbull Hating customers"" to be uncomfortable and go somewhere else. This fear is mainly because of what people have heard in the news, or hearsay. Now....I am not oblivious to the bad stigma involving the breed, but all this business is doing, is fueling the fire to the exaggerated reputation these dogs have, i and would challenge these ""fearful"" people to take 30 seconds to look at the true stats and frequency of dog bites, aggressive behavior and/or attacks and see that numbers 1-10 on that list are all allowed to be boarded at this facility. A professional animal facility that discriminates against 1 breed for no REAL reason is a disgrace to true animal lovers. I understand a private business is allowed certain freedoms with what type of service they offer, but the fact that they can refuse service to 1 type of dog while advertising ""All types & Sizes welcome"" is a complete misrepresentation. If you want to be an Ignorant, discriminatory business...at least have the (excuse my language) Balls, to be upfront in your advertising and most of all Business Name!!!!! Please believe that I will be sharing this asinine, unprofessional information with everyone involved in animal care locally.
