While AF&M has lower prices than most places AND their installers do quality work, both the owner (Charlton) and his twin brother in the Tomball store (Chris), are difficult personalities. While I wanted to believe that Charlton was a man of integrity, he continually changed his story to us about a ""gift"" he had offered us. Later we learned he had sold over half of the ""gift"" after he told us we could have it. All of that aside, his brother, Chris, is one of the most volatile persons I have ever seen. At first meeting, he appears to be a very nice and friendly young man. But he quickly loses his temper if he is confronted in even the nicest of ways. He immediately goes on the defense and says, ""It's not my fault."" Tonight my husband and I left work early and drove an hour to get there before closing to look at vinyl flooring samples since we weren't going to have enough of the ""gift"" to do what we had planned. When we got there, Chris looked for the samples. After not finding them, he finally called Charlton and was told that HE had them in the Conroe office. Instead of apologizing and saying something like, ""I'm so sorry, I had no idea they were not here when I spoke with you earlier,"" he right away goes into defense mode and says, ""It's not my fault."" You know, it's great to have a terrific product and skilled craftsmen to install it, but if you treat your customers so poorly, you'll soon have even MORE product in your warehouse that you won't be able to get rid of . . . because you will have chased all of your customers away. Too bad . . . we will never do business with this company again.
Pros: Quality workmanship
Cons: Poor customer service
