Absolutely atrocious!
They gave us all kinds of misinformation. They delivered the wrong glass for one window. They delivered the wrong color french doors. They didn't involve us in the decision on which style of surround to put around the french door. They damaged our newly painted window sills upon installation.
When the french door was delivered and I realized it was the wrong color I brought it to their attention at which point they assured me that that color was the right color. While still deciding what to do about the situation the crew was inside my home ripping out my old sliding door (I had been outside examining the new french doors on the truck) leaving me no decision any longer!
After having been assured over and over again that the difference in color from what I ordered was just a matter of variation in the process from the color chip we picked to the final product I started to get suspicious so I began my own investigation by calling the manufacturer of the door directly. It was then that I found out the depth of the misinformation I'd been given:
I had been told that the color choices I had been offered were for both the windows and the doors. This was despite the fact that they were manufactured by two different companies. I was told that both companies buy their paints from the same place and that this is why two separate companies use the same color selection. Once I contacted the manufacturer of the doors I found out that this is absolutely NOT the case.
The color chips I had been given to choose from amongst are not even used by the manufacturer of the door!!!!! They are the color chips that are used by the manufacturer of the windows, an altogether different company! The manufacturer of the door has their own color selection numbering 600 colors and can even color match their doors to any color sample they're given! We were never shown the company's color selection, nor were we ever told that they could color match the doors to the windows!
We were told that the color mix-up was the fault of the manufacturer of the door as Showcase Vinyl Windows had ordered the color code corresponding to the color we had chosen- color code 905. We became suspicious when the touch-up paint that was delivered to us along with the door was labeled color code 9005. Upon contacting the manufacturer of the door and discovering that the company does not even use the color selection we were offered I found too that they don't even use 3 digit color codes at all! Indeed, upon receiving the order for the door from Showcase with a color code that they didn't recognize they sent back a confirmation form that inquired after the use of 905 on the ordered form; specifically the form tried to confirm if what was intended was color 9005. I have been told by the manufacturer of the door that this form was received by Showcase, signed so as to confirm the color 9005, and sent back!
This is why I know have the wrong color door!!!!!
I am telling my homeowner's association to put a warning notice in the community's monthly newsletter. I am putting ""buyer beware"" notices in the Orange County Register, the Orange County edition of the LA Times, and the Penny Saver. I am doing everything I can to make sure this company doesn't do this to more people. I'm also beginning the process of taking them to court. Do NOT do business with this company. They're absolutely atrocious.
Cons: How much space do I have to list them?
