Our downstairs furnace started shutting off in the middle of the night, meaning waking up to a freezing house in the January! We called on another company (who had installed our furnaces and had come out before for a similar problem with our upstairs furnace two years earlier), and long story short, the technician asked us to get a paperclip, stretch it out, and stick it into this hole to clear some dust. He charged $85 and said that if that didn't work, it might be a pressure switch problem that would cost approx $400 to fix, plus another $85 diagnostic cost plus labor the next time.
We decided to get a second opinion and called All About Air. While it took a few visits, we were only charged the $80 diagnostic charge ONCE (not per visit like the other guys), Lenny and his team were super quick at responding and just from the first visit, cleaned out the drain pipe, insulated the pipes for both furnaces and didn't charge us for that. P.S. insulating the pipes actually fixed our previous problem with our upstairs furnace that the other guys had told us would cost hundreds of dollars.
When we determined that the insulation and cleaning the pipe was not the problem, Lenny told us the pressure switch was the problem. When I asked how much it would cost, he said nothing as my furnace was under warranty. The other guys, who installed the furnace were still going to charge us...sketchy, dishonest!
At the end of all this, we will only use All About Air. Lenny and his crew are the experts, are just all around nice guys, and are honest! Their diagnostics went from the bottom all the way up to the attic just to make sure the entire furnace set-up was fine. The other guys just sat in front of the furnace and did not check anything else.
I also loved that they educated me all along the way, explaining what they were doing and even teaching me how to maintain the furnace better.
