Save your money and your time, Alicante is the ghetto of Aliso Viejo.
I don't use the term lightly, ""ghetto"". But it truly is.
Been a resident here since '07, and have regreted every minute.
Let's start off with the positive...
+Nicely groomed grounds, pool and workout room.
+They are kind to dogs and cats
+Maintenance staff are kind and courteous
That's about it for the positive.
Let's list the negative...
-They rarely, if ever inforce the ""pick-up-after-your-pooch"" police. Dog waste abounds.
-Any kind of maintenance request is either never passed on to maintenance staff OR is incomplete with no follow-up.
-Residents do not follow the ""don't hang anything off of your balcony because it can drop and injure someone below"".
-Always a new face in the Management office so no one knows who you are when you come in.
-Residents take a back seat to them selling to prospects.
-Every year for renewal they ""change"" the rules on what you are entitiled to... Almost like waiting to get to the ""grown-up"" table for Thanksgiving. No one ever can get what they are promised.
-Long-term residents are treated poorly. I've known a few folks here who have been here longer than me and they're treated like dirt.
-Rules regarding ""no smoking"" are left up to the RESIDENTS to inforce (what kinda BS is that?).
-Back entrance has been damaged for months and has yellow-hazard-tape as a form of a baracade... like that'll stop them??!!?
-Alicante is frequently visited by the fire department for saftey violations, such as expired fire extinguishers, bolting entrances/exits closed (MAJOR FIRE HAZARD), etc.
-Pool stinks of chlorine. Understandable since parents let their little kids swim in the pool with loaded diapers. If you want your swim suit to rot off your body after one swim, enjoy.
-Alicante has had violations with this City of Aliso Viejo for building code violations (turning off water to an entire building to fix one unit)(cost Alicante THOUSANDS of dollars in fines as well as repairs, of which, they passed the cost onto the residents--nothing like ""sticking it to your renters"").
I could go on and on, but the fact is, do some research and look at any non-SEQUOIA managed complex.
Alicante, nor Sequoia Equities give a hoot about the residents... only THEIR BOTTOM LINE.
