Ok, anyone who has been to the famous French Quarter knows that, along with the huge drinks, comes huge prices for those drinks! And if you want to eat anywhere on Bourbon Street, you can expect to pay about three times what you would at a comparable restaurant elsewhere. However, if you are visiting and don't want to wander outside of The Quarter, I'll let you in on a secret! That secret is the Alibi... right off Bourbon Street on Iberville, this place seems almost hidden. I think that is one reason why it seems to be preferred by the locals. After a long night working at the bars on Bourbon Street, many of us would meet up at the Alibi for a bite to eat and a few quiet drinks. We would often have drinks with the officers going off duty, and residents of New Orleans that work in many areas of the French Quarter. The Alibi is not one of the most fascinating places in New Orleans, does not have the loud, blaring music... doesn't even have a dance floor... but that's part of what makes it so charming, especially if you've been living the night life and need to relax and "chill" for a while! They do offer thirts and other memorabilia for sale, so next time you visit the Quarter, stop in and check them out... you can tell everyone you hung out at The Alibi, and most people will tell you they haven't heard of it!
