I thought the negative reviews on here were from those who couldn't follow a simple contract or who nit-pick. WRONG. The staff members are excellent until you move in. Then when you speak to the assistant manager and she begins losing your paperwork, or withholding your postal packages because she's too lazy to walk across to the back office and retrieve them...you start seeing a new side of lakeside. Her misinformation cost me a full months rent which as a military member with military orders should not have happened. And I'm not the only one...3 other members I work with lived there and had to speak to the manager or the other young man to get descent assistance. Maintenance guy is nice but maintenance here consists of duct tape. Hope you like the hot Texas sun because your AC is guaranteed to go out at least once a month (not an isolated incident...happens on the daily to MANY apartments here). You lose power if it rains more than a couple inches, and the man made lake always a slew of dead fish floating in them...seems pointless to stock the lake when they die so quickly. If you are military then run run run away! They're NOT military friendly. The duck, fish, lake, and trees are nice...but not enough to rent here. Coworkers renting from Villas at Oakwell farms, and Centizo flats had good experiences...I would try there first!! more

Ive lived here for 4 years and love it! My apartment has great footage for the price and the view is great. I lived by the lake and recently relocated to a poolside apartment and both areas are very nice and quite. The staff is very helpful and accept packages at the office if you are not home. Only down side at times is that at one of the gates you need a remote to get in and out. If you dont have a remote you have to go all the way around...... On the positive we recently got new fitness equipment and now I make good use of the fitness center :-) more

We lived at these apartments for 2 years. Cute place, the ducks are a nice touch, though beware the treadmill does NOT work (just FYI) in the gym. On moving out, I spent two days scrubbing... cleaned out the fireplace, cleaned blinds and fans, mopped on hands n' knees to ensure I got every spot, replaced the drip pans on the stove (and paid $23.19 to do so with new drip pans!). They told us they were too busy to do the final walk-through with us, but just leave our keys at the front desk when we're all moved out. We did so, and all seemed fine. In the end, Lakeside Villas management sent us a statement that charged us $49 for ""moving out 2 days late"" and $95 in cleaning fees. I called to inquire, and the manager quickly verified that we had moved out the correct date. Thought she insisted that maintenance had done a walk through and found the place ""terribly dirty,"" she said she wanted to make sure they were talking about ""the right apartment."" This seemed likely to me, but several days later she returned a message and said we would still have to pay for the extra cleaning. We have no ground to stand on, since I didn't take pictures of the clean apartment I left and it's their word against ours. I realize this is only a $95 charge (and loss of all our deposit), but I feel particularly done wrong to. ALSO, be advised that the rent does not include a monthly trash service and water fee that will add at least $21-$27 on top of the actual rent you agree to in your lease. more
