i find it really funny that Don has the majority of awesome reviews. I thought he was my little secret. I have been going to Don since he started at Alexandre de Paris. My sister is a hairdresser in SC & she has forbade anyone touching my hair except her, and Don. I actually prefer Don's haircuts over my sister's. I have actually had people follow me around stores to ask me who cuts my hair! And people, I don't have nice hair...it's very fine & stick straight! I call Don my "magic man!". I <3 Don! He get's the 5 stars, not the salon. more

My hairdresser of 6 years had a baby and quit. I went to several places and just got mediocre haircuts and color. I was a walk in and Maggie was free. I will never go to anyone else. She did a perfect cut, helped me with products and showed me things I have never seen before. I got rave reviews from strangers that same day. She rocks. I consider myself very upbeat and yet she made me look amazing!!! Please ask for her, she is worth any wait you might have. btw.... after comparing prices, they are very within range! more

I am so glad I started seeing Maggie for my haircuts and color-- she is just amazing! I am always impressed by her knowledge of hair. Last visit I wanted to go from really long hair to a short bob. She said that I should maybe try a medium length first because clients tend to make such drastic changes from long to short so they don't get a chance to experience all the great lengths in between. We tried a medium cut and I LOVE it!! I am so glad I listened to Maggie's advice, she is such a star! more

If your hair is out of control, damaged, needs style or color, and if you prefer a candid person with integrity and wit for your stylist, you and your hair need Don. He sincerely cares about your hair and wants you to be happy with it. Before I met Don, every stylist I encountered brought disappointment. I would walk into a salon disliking my hair and walk out with regrets of ever walking in – always hating my hair “after” it was colored and styled. A few years before I met Don, I began doing my own color … even a cut sometimes. My first experience with Don was when I had over processed my color. My hair was damaged, broken and falling out so badly I was terrified of brushing – besides, there was absolutely no style. After seeing Don for approximately 8 years, my hair has the most beautiful blonde highlights and lowlights anyone has ever seen … I get constant compliments. It’s extremely healthy and manageable with timeless style. Before Don, my husband would ask me why I actually went to a salon and “paid money” to be unhappy with the results … I haven’t heard him say that for 8 years, and he has not heard me “complain” about my hair once. Now my husband and I have one less argument. Long story short… Don saved my hair and my marriage. more

- He is an amazing colorist; women stop me to find out who does my hair. For me, he's managed to find a multi-layerd blonde that works for me, yet looks totally natural -His cuts are awesome and make my unruly thick hair lay (and grow out) beautifully - He truly truly listens, and gives great advice whether you're ready for an all new look or just refreshing your current style. Helps you make the very best of the hair you have. He's honest, but definitely tactful! - He is up on the latest trends and tools - He's kind, smart and funny (and is very focused on his work). - In a word, Don rocks. You won't be disapointed. more

I have been going to Alexander's for 5 + years and love it. Don is fantastic with Hair color and cuts. He's enthusiastic about his job and loves a good hair challenge, because he knows what he is doing and stays current by attending various hair shows and training. I have gone to two other stylists prior to Don. The first being Simon, but he left and went back to London (another good one). I tried one other person based on a recommendation who was good but not great like the experience I have had with Don, who was also based off of a recommendation. You will love Don's experience, the person, and the conversation. The spa has been recently renovated and is quite an experience. One note, the spa is one of the more expensive for the area, but I still find it worth it. more

The staff is amazing...be prepared to spend about 2 hours for full color / highlights though. Staff pampers you. Don does my hair he is the best! I wont go to anyone else. more

I had a "Hair Emergency". My former stylist of 2 years had messed up my color for the last time and I had to get my hair fixed for my long awaited cruise. I had my 3 year old with me when I called Alexander De Paris for help. They got me in immediately with Maggie who promptly got to work on my repair job. They entertained my 3 year old by painting her nails, washing her hair and just letting her interact with the staff.(it was not free but it was soooo worth it). The whole staff was so warm and helpful and understanding I will go there as long as they will have me. It was a wonderful place with great people. Thank you so much. Karen Vance more

I made the appointment for her a few weeks ago, and thought that it would be a great way to start the day, our anniversary. I dropped her off at 11am for a massage and haircut/style and when I returned 90 minutes later she was extremely mad. Her back is hurting so bad from the massage, twisted in knots, that I cannot even massage her lightly without her grimacing in pain. Her hair is nothing like she wanted and really, is the exact opposite of what she requested from the stylist, much shorter than she expected. The worst fact of all is that it put a severe damper on our anniversary. She is now lying in the bed on a heating pad and doesn’t want to leave the house. She is also angry with the service she received. Though she said the masseuse was friendly, the woman that cut her hair was rude, fast paced, and incessantly mentioned that she had her next appointment coming soon and that she had to hurry. Whether this was an unprofessional stylist or an error of your scheduler, either way Alexandre de Paris spa did nothing to relax my wife, and instead made her stressed. I regret ever having gone. We have been to spas in the United States, central and South America, Europe and Australia and never have we had such a dissatisfactory experience. My wife summed it up well in the car afterward: “if you have the name, reputation and price of a great spa, at least give an excellent or above average product and service. Don’t just settle for being average of less than average. I feel like they just pushed me through fast, took my money and sent me on my way. It was the worst service I’ve ever had.” You ruined my anniversary. more

If you are looking to be pampered and willing to spend the money this is an excellent spa and salon. The day spa provides packages with facials, massages, lunch, etc. The staff is extremely professional and the services rendered are fantastic. I have done the day spa package and have been happy with the massage & facials I had. The salon is top notch - I have seen 3 of their stylists over the past 4 years and they have all been excellent. The chairs at the hair washing stations are massage chairs which feel great at the end of a long day. I would definitely recommend this place only if you are willing to spend a little more on the services b/c they are priced higher than a standard salon in this area. more
