When I got home tonight, there was a stray cat in front of my apartment. He immediately attached to me and followed me wherever I went. He seems to be a little too skinny to a house cat, but too friendly to be a stray, anyway after walking around with him for awhile around my apartment complex to see if anyone was looking for him or if he went off in the direction of his home I decided that I would try to call a shelter to see if they could pick him up. I know it is late, and I would have taken him in, but my roommate and I are EXTREMELY allergic to cats and I can't have him inside for even just a night. I am a huge animal lover and don't want to see this sweet cat get hurt on the busy main street I live on so I decided to look in the phone book. The first name of a shelter I came across that was close to where I live was Alderson so I called. A woman picked up the phone and rudely said ""hello?"" Taken back by her rudeness I asked if this was Alderson's and she said ""yes but who in thier right mind would call at 11pm"" I said I am sorry just looking for.. and she cut me off and said"" yeah they have it wrong in the phone book we are a shelter but no one in thier right mind will be open at 11pm"" and then hung up. I would never intrust my loved one/family member to this woman or whatever business this may be and I hope someone reads this and does not take their animal to this horrible business.
