Albuquerque International Airport is the main airport in New Mexico, yet is fairly small. The airport is maneuverable and there are a host of visitor information booths and car rental points. A drawback is that for early or late, morning or night arrivals, you might have a hard time getting a cab to a hotel. Arriving late at night, there were pre-arranged cabs waiting, but none for hire. I was unexpected for this since I live on the East Coast. Pre-arranging is a good idea. Also, pre-arrange for a rental car if you need it, but don't go with Hertz - they won't wait for late planes and you'll be forced to stay over - other rental agencies wait up.
