Very clean and friendly hostel. :) Did find it quite hot overnight and a little hard to fall asleep, though.

I must say that the environment, location and customer service cant be beat. This Hostel is unique among Anchorage lodging due to the fact that past tenants have left their mark by leaving a little message or a drawing on the walls. more

Alaska Backpackers made it all worthwhile. 4/14/2011

I cannot say enough great things about this place. I just visited Alaska for my spring break- not the wisest choice since there isn't too much to do in Anchorage when everything is covered with snow and you don't have a car! However, my stay at the Alaska backpackers Inn made it all worthwhile. more

Stay here if you're in Anchorage Best hostel I've ever stayed at - clean, safe, cheap and great location (it's on the edge of downtown). You get your own locker so your paranoid mind can rest with ease and the super-friendly staff is always around to help out. I don't see the point of staying at any hotels in town, the communal vibe at the Backpackers Inn is all you will need (especially if you're traveling alone). more

Private room was nice. The showers were clean. The place has a nice vibe to it. It is far more comfortable than nearby hotels that charge far more. It is in a great location, less than a mile to walk to downtown sites. more

This is my 3rd. time staying at Alaska Backpackers and I have to say that I was again very impressed with the cleaningess and staff at this place. If you go to Anchorage you have to stay and experiance this place. You wont be dissapointed, and for the money its incredible. more

Great Hostel 2/16/2011

Firstly this hostel is in a great location; walking distance to outdoor activities such as coastal trails, hiking and fishing as well as nightlife and shopping centres. Secondly the hostel itself is clean and very well run, the staff are very helpful and friendly creating an awesome atmosphere. Lastly the wooden interior succeeds in completing the full Alaskan experience as well as the traditionally painted floors in the rooms. Customers also have the unique opportunity of contributing and leaving their mark in Alaska by drawing on and decorating the walls. Awesome place, would definitely come here again & will be reccommending it to friends and family. more

LOVED THIS PLACE 1/31/2011

LOVED THE PLACE. What I loved the most is, how inexpensive it was for such a Great atmospheric place. On top of that, it was cleaner then I ever expected for any Hostel to be. As a matter of fact it was cleaner then most upscale hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very helpful in giving me ideas as where to eat and go have a drink. I was really happy with my stay. more

Great hostel! Would most definitely recommed! Fantastic location, close to transport, outdoor activities AND nightlife. The hostel itself is comfortable, clean and well run. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Theres laundry for a reasonable price, a kitchen, a games/living room (with awesome couches and a huge tv), a reading room and internet on site. This hostel provides everything a traveller would need and more! more
