Frequent Flier Miles 11/28/2006

We have frequent flier miles with Alaska. And what is so great about that you never lose your miles. Since my husband and I fly occasionally to visit family it takes us awhile to build up enough miles to turn in for a free flight. Also, they have other airlines that we can book on and still get miles for Alaska's Frequent Flier Plan. Recently my husband flew on American Airlines for business and got miles for his frequent flier plan. This was an added bonus to the business trip! We have always had excellent service, easy ticket purchasing, choices of seating, reliable & on-time flights ( in fact we have arrived early on several of our flights), easy check-in, nice flight attendants on all of our flights with Alaska Airlines. I just wish they flew to Denver where my brother lives. That may come in the future since they did set up a flight to Denver from Seattle, so now I need to wait for Southern California to Denver. But we have no problem getting to northern Oregon where my daughter lives and most of our flights are to that destination. The price of the tickets are comparable to the Southwest Airlines ticket prices and I don't have to stop in San Jose or Oakland - I can go non-stop. So for a few dollars more I fly Alaska Airlines to get the non-stop flight. It is seldom that you can get a Southwest Airline Ticket that doesn't involve some kind of stop or stops and you end up adding hours to your traveling time. I don't want to spend all day in a plane and airport - I want to get to my destination so I can enjoy the people I came to visit. My husband just went on a business trip to Albuquerque, N.M. and had to fly through Phoenix to get there. It tried real hard to get an American flight but since it was last minute there were not very many flights available for the next day. Then he could have received more flight miles for Alaska. http://www.alaskaairlines.com more

Great experience with Alaska 8/7/2006

I recently traveled to Florida on American Airlines, but our return flight was canceled and American rebooked us on Alaska Airlines. We flew non-stop from Miami to Seattle and it was a wonderful flight with a great crew. I was traveling with my family, and American wasn't able to assign seats for us at the time we were rebooked, so we arrived at the airport early where the Alaska ticket agent pulled some strings and managed to seat all 5 of us in the same row. (My children are young, so we couldn't sit staggered around the airplane.) During the flight, the flight attendants were friendly and responsive, and - shock of all shocks - Alaska Airlines actually serves food. For FREE! And it's quite good for airline food. Ours was a morning flight, so we got a strawberry yogurt and a breakfast sandwich - egg, cheese and ham on an English muffin. Later in the flight the attendants came through the cabin with warmed cookies, and there were three beverage services throughout the flight. We were also able to rent a "DigiPlayer" for $10.00 that was preloaded with movies, TV Shows, cartoons and music. These kept my kids busy for the entire flight, and they come with a splitter so more than one child can watch and listen. Very nice! I'd definitely fly Alaska again, and I'd even pay a little more for a ticket on such a pleasant airline with unexpected little touches. more

Very easy! 10/25/2005

I do all my travel booking on the internet and when you are a person who is on the go, this works out very well. I can do all my booking, confirmations, and even print out a boarding pass online, which saves me hours of standing in lines when I get to the airports. I really would recommend this service to anyone due to the quickness of the website as well as the service free cost. The prompts make it nearly impossible to goof up so it is almost always accident-free! more

Great northwest-based airline 6/28/2005

Alaska Airlines has become my carrier of choice since moving to Seattle. Prices are reasonable (although I do not consider them to be one of the cheesy discount carriers like southwest), service is solid, and their route structure is great from Seattle, especially if you are traveling to Alaska or along the west coast. Achieving elite status is relatively easy, and elite benefits on Alaska are great! Plus, you can redeem miles on so many partner airlines. more
