i've just moved here from nyc, where you can always find a good bargain. i was so thrilled to find alamo's custom upholstery shop. reminds me of the little dungeons on the lower east side of manhattan, that were a good bargain as well as providing good work! you enter from the side of the house, where the basement door has a very small sign so don't miss it! the basement is packed with works in progress, but i got my ottoman cushion back in three days, for a great price, and amazing details! really nice family too! Pros: inexpensive, fast service, nice staff more

Best deal in Portland 6/21/2002

Don't let any other upholster rip you off! I moved to Portland in July, 2000 and got something like 7 quotes for reupholstering a few Saarinen chairs. I did a search on Citysearch and Alamo showed up as close to my home and so I called them, too. I provided materials that I had ordered through Maharam. Alamo charged less than HALF as much as any of the other estimates and did a wonderful job. The were also quick, professional and friendly. I was extremely happy with their work. I will be using their services again. more
